General information

The Lake Puck-A-Way Ice Racing Club is group of local's that have gotten together to Ice Race on Sunday afternoons.Any one is welcome to join provided they have a car that meets the club rules. This is a club and therefore a nominal membership fee will be imposed to cover operations costs. Races will be on Sundays. Race signup will be at 11:30am with a drivers meeting to follow at 11:45am. Racing starts at 12:00pm (noon) If a race is cancelled due to weather or ice conditions it will be rescheduled for the flowing Sunday. There are 3 Classes; Rear wheel driver, Front Wheel drive, and a Wow (women on wheels) class. Pre-registration is recommended to hold your spot Car lineup will be posted on board by score keeper’s car before the race. Races will be rolling starts and heat races will be 8 laps( min of 4 cars; if there are less cars less laps will be run; 8 car max per heat) features and semi – features will be 12 laps (plus car count) All vehicles are to be off track after races except snow plows. Questions call Terry @ 608-617-6586 Rules: 1. You must be 16 or older to race or ride in car. Driver and passenger info and liability waiver for must be signed prior to racing by both driver and passenger. 2. Vehicles are only allowed to race with 4 tires (one per corner). No studs or foreign objects allowed in rubber. 3. Windows must be left intact; all other glass (headlights, tail lights, ect) must be removed. All chrome, reflectors or any object that could easily come off must be removed. 4. 18 and under must wear a helmet and seat belt. All other drivers are recommended to wear them as well. 5. Gas tanks may be left as long as ahead of rear axle 6. Fire extinguishers are mandatory. 2 ½ lb. easily accessible in car. 7. NO DISORDERLY CONDUT TOLLERATED! Or you will be disqualified for the day.NO GUNS ALLOWED. You are responsible for the actions of your pit crew. 8. Carpet under cars in pits is mandatory (Pits are on the Ice at the end of the track.) Any car with excessive leaks from foreign material such as oil and antifreeze will not be allowed to race until repaired. Repairs must be made one land per DNR regulations. 9. Registration will be held inside Good Old Days. No paying at the track! 10. There is a 30 min intermission between heat races and feature races. 11. Pay-outs will be held inside Good Old Days at the end of all feature races. Winnings will be given to driver only. If you are not present, you can pick up your envelope at Good Old Days with in two weeks or it will go into the end of the year winnings. 12. Anyone who intentionally hits another car will be black flagged from that race. If the hitting continues, you will be eliminated for the day and lose all points for that day. 13. Anyone spinning out must yield to cars on track. Lapped traffic must move to the outside of the track. If a car is stuck and not in danger the race will continue. 14. Points stay with the number/driver. A number/driver can change cars after a race is complete but MUST notify the flag man of change. 15. Hands, head, arms, and legs inside the care at all times. Absolutely no getting out of car during a race unless the car is on fire or sinking. 16. Numbers must be easily visible on door panel on the sides of the car. 17. During a restart the leader starts double but get to pick inside or outside 18. Tow hooks must be secure on front and rear of car 19. Bumper height/point of impact needs to be between 18-24inches 20. Racing starts at 12:00pm Noon 21. If you know you are late call to notify someone 22. If you cause a caution in a race you will start in the back 23. If you cause 2 cautions in a single race you will be black flagged for that race 24. Wfw now allows male copilots. 25. If there are under 4 cars in wfw class you are welcome to join the Rear wheel drive heat or front wheel drive heat. 26. This is a 1/3 mile track 27. NO CARRY IN’S – please purchase and beverages from Good Old Day’s 28. DRUNK DRIVING WILL NOT BE TOLLERATED. Recommendations - Radiator guard behind bumper - Roll bars/roll cages have padding where body parts may come into contact with - A bar from door to door across the inside of the car - Paint a number on your car with a color that is easily seen by point’s counters, drivers, and other officials. This is a club and therefore a membership fee is required to cover operational costs Membership fee - $20.00 Racing fee each week - $15.00 Nonmember will be charged a racing fee of $20.00 per week. Payouts will be worked out after the first 2 weeks of racing.
