Every year we look forward to hosting Montclair State University students for their 9/11 Day of Service. This year’s service project was sprucing up the front of our 100 year old Park Street building and we were so grateful to have the Garden Club of Montclair to help out as well. We honor the lives lost 25 years ago and remember them through acts of service.

The 7th Grade Initiative returns to the Y this fall! Designed to support young teens through this important stage of growth, the program helps participants build healthy habits, develop confidence, and navigate the transition into adolescence—all while enjoying a free Y membership for the school year.

We hear there is a big game tomorrow! The Montclair Mounties plays its season opener at home against the Ridgewood Maroons on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Woodman Field. The YMCA of Montclair and the Ridgewood YMCA are honorary cosponsors of Big State Sports' livestream and happy to support youth sports in our communities.

The YMCA of Montclair celebrated the first graduating class of its Veterans Wellness Initiative during a special ceremony held July 27 at the Park Street YMCA. The free program engaged seven U.S. military veterans, along with participating family members, in activities designed to strengthen physical health, mental well-being, and social connection.
