Today, my body asked me to slow down.
Not the polite little whisper either…
The kind that comes through a scratchy throat, heavy limbs, and the knowing that pushing through isn’t the answer. 🤧
So today I rested.
And in the quiet of that rest, I found myself holding space for a friend who just lost his mother. This fresh grief and personal reflection has a way of opening doors inside of you… doors you didn’t even realize were still closed.
It stirred something in me.
The grief of losing my own mother.
Grief, I realize now I never fully let move through my body.
The old version of me would have pushed right past this.
I would have kept the schedule.
Showed up strong.
Powered through the day.
Checked the boxes.
But the woman I am now knows something different.
She knows that healing doesn’t come from pushing past the body.
It comes from listening to it.
So today I’m letting the grief move.
Letting the illness move.
Letting the emotions move.
Resting. Breathing. Renewing.
This is what embodiment actually looks like.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
Not meeting everyone else’s expectations.
But honoring what your body and spirit need in this moment.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause…and allow ourselves to feel what’s real.
Today I rest. Today I listen. Today I renew.
And I snuggled and shared my 'medicine' with Mabel, my little grey kitten. It is known that a cat's purr is the frequency needed to heal humans. And for this, I am grateful for Mabel's warmth, companionship, and frequency
What would it look like for you to truly listen to your body today?
