Meet Caylyn, she’s going into her sophomore year of college, majoring in Social Work. She was on the ymca swim team for most of of her time as a child and teen. Caylyn joins us for her second year with Swim Spectrum. She’s looking forward to helping kids learn how to swim, float, and have safety skills while swimming!

Meet Olivia, she’s going into her senior year of college at UMass Lowell. She swam competitively from when she was six until she graduated high school. She’s majoring in psychology and has special interest in understanding diverse communities. She had an amazing experience last year teaching and cant wait for what this summer holds!

Meet Sam, from Monmouth. He is an engineering major at the University of Maine. Outside of school and work he enjoys camping, fishing, and playing sports. This will be his 2nd year with Swim Spectrum and his fifth year teaching lessons. Sam is excited to get to know the kids and enhance their swimming abilities.

Over the next couple of days I’ll be making posts so you can “meet” some of our instructors.

Lisa Hasch (Owner & Head Instructor) has taught swim lessons with Swim Spectrum for 1 year, for 25 years for the Monmouth Recreation Department at Monmouth Beach, for 15 years for the YMCA, & 2 years with City of Portland Recreation, along with 4 years of teaching during her college years in Vermont. Trained in Basic Water Safety, Water Safety Instructor, CPR/AED/First Aid, Lifeguarding, & Lifeguard Management. Lisa has worked with children with Special needs for the last 20 years in the Monmouth Schools and is a Certified Special Education Teacher in the state of Maine. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Athletic Training and a Master’s Degree in Special Education Teaching. Lisa spends many hours around water teaching swimming whether it be the pool, lake, ocean, etc. Lisa is committed to helping all children develop a life-long love for the water!

Now taking registrations for Summer 2026 swim lessons! Experienced instructors, fully insured, teaching infants to adults, accommodating for children with all abilities, including specialization in working with children with ASD, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Anxiety, Multiple Disabilities, Behavioral concerns, etc.

All children should learn to be safe around and in water, we make it fun and accommodating to the child’s needs.
