Greetings, Chairman.
It is with deep concern and disappointment that I address the unfortunate and embarrassing incident that occurred during our match yesterday against Kemoai FC. What transpired is unacceptable and has no place in modern football.
As coaches and custodians of the game, we carry the responsibility to model discipline, professionalism, and respect. Under no circumstances should players be influenced, directly or indirectly, to engage in acts of violence, especially against match officials. The referee’s decision, whether we agree or not, must always be respected as part of the rules that govern the game.
Regrettably, the situation escalated due to unprofessional conduct from the technical bench, which incited disorder. As a result, I was physically attacked by supporters and sustained injuries, an incident that could and should have been avoided. It is disheartening that I am now forced to spend personal resources on medical treatment because of this breakdown in discipline and leadership.
Football is a beautiful game built on respect, integrity, and sportsmanship. We are competitors on the field, not enemies. This growing culture of hostility must stop if we are to protect the image and future of our league.
I am particularly disappointed in the conduct of Coach Shining Man, from whom I expected a higher standard of professionalism and understanding of coaching ethics.
Moving forward, I strongly recommend that the subcommittee take immediate steps to:
Ensure the presence of adequate security personnel at all matches
Enforce strict disciplinary measures against misconduct
Promote respect for officials and adherence to the laws of the game
The image of our league must change. We must collectively uphold and respect the rules that govern this game if we are to move forward.
