It's been a journey but we've made it 5 years.
HFR started out as a buy out in May of 2021 with a wore out early 2000's model Apache Chassis. 3 weeks later I would turn my 1st laps in a flat kart on a dirt track called "New Beginnings".
Those first laps I lost my breath in the opening practice from screaming from the excitement and from not knowing if the kart would even make it through the turns on the dusty banking. After a few races there we would venture out to Mountain Creek in Catawba, NC for the 2022 and 2023 seasons where we would begin to understand tires a little better. The track was much different with more banking and wet clay. At the end of the 2023 season "New Beginnings" would change to Bear Creek Raceway Park and we were there for the support during its start up at the close of the the MC off season. Little did we know we wouldn't get to run Mountain Creek ever again.
We started the 2024 season off with a win in the first weekend and would be very competitive for the remainder of the season scoring yet another win a a few poles with a points championship.
In 2025, HFR would grow to a 4 full time kart team and would show speed out of the gate winning again in the season opener but would have to wait til September to grab more wins and win again in the finale locking up 2 more championships.
2026 would rolling in with a 7 more wins across our growing team of 5 karts in just the 1st 2 months of racing.
I'm so proud of the growth and the success the team has had but I couldn't have done it without the help of Eric Godbey and G-Town racing our sponsors Poulsen’s Lawn Maintenance LLC Yellow Butterfly Home Care LLC and Davie Major Appliance Repair and the help at the track from friends and family who helped with cleaning tires to setting the karts on the ground. But most importantly thank you to my drivers Jay Hutchens Brysen Godbey Davis Whitney Clayton Condrey Jake Barneycastle Jayce and kylie for all you do for the team to help keep this team going and improving each week.
