This is a late post but here it goes. I started this journey a little over 5 years ago. On August 8, 2024 I tested out 5 years clear and cancer free. I have not posted anything because August was a really bad month. It has taken me a little while to post this for multiple reasons, but the thing that hit the hardest was the loss of my brother James Brenton on 8/5/2025. James was not kin to me but he was absolutely family. He was so excited to hear if I tested out clear and was very clear that he better be the first person to get the news besides my beautiful wife Angie. I am one of the few people that will ever have a friendship like James and I had. I miss you my brother and look forward to seeing you again. I am thankful to God for my wife Angie for all of her support, for all of my friends, family, and coworkers. I would also like to thank God for friends like James Brenton because most people will never have a friend like he was.

I can’t say enough about this dude right here. He is the one that got me started with Oakwood Fire Pits. After I had a week stay in the hospital late November, he came out on the Christmas and worked his butt off to help me catch up. Now I catch Covid this week and he does it again. I would like to think he does this because we have been best friends for 40 years but if you know James Brenton you know that he is always doing something for others. That’s just the kind of person he is. Thanks brother, love you like family.
