We have reached the most important race-day decision yet. Forget training. Forget fueling. WHICH STICKER ARE YOU SLAPPING ON YOUR WATER BOTTLE?!

🐕 Option 1: Unhinged trail dog carrying the Spirit Stick like an absolute legend.

🌲 Option 2: Clean, rugged, and pretending this race is a perfectly normal thing to do.

Last year, a participant showed up with two sticks and casually created one of the most unhinged traditions of Find Your Strength: The Spirit Sticks.

One is basically a 30lb tree you throw over your shoulder and immediately regret. The other is a sneaky little 20lb baton specifically designed to make your bicep cramp while you discover there is, in fact, NO comfortable way to carry it.

Complete a mile with one and he donates extra money to Special Olympics. It’s awkward. It’s heavy. Halfway through the loop you’ll swear this was a terrible idea. And then you keep carrying the damn thing.

Because apparently running miles wasn’t hard enough. Welcome to Find Your Strength.

We choose to do something hard for a few hours. The athletes of the Moberly Area Special Olympics Missouri face challenges every day that many of us will never fully understand, and they continue to show up with courage, determination and a whole lot of heart.

Every mile, every questionable decision on the trail, and every “why did I sign up for this?” helps support these incredible athletes and the opportunities they deserve.

No, you do not have to run for 12 hours straight. No, you don’t have to be fast. No, it's not cheating if you sit down and eat a sandwich. Find Your Strength Endurance Race is way less complicated than you think.

Pick 3, 6 or 12 hours.
Run. Walk. Rest. Eat. Go another mile.
Repeat until you decide you’re done.

The only real requirement is being willing to find out what you can do.

These aren’t professional runners. They have jobs, kids, bad knees and questionable life choices. Some run, some walk, some shuffle back to the tent wondering WTF they signed up for.

But they showed up, and that’s the point. "Find Your Strength is about finding out what happens when you decide to go one more mile. You don’t have to be an ultra runner. You don’t even have to know how far you can go.

Last year, these people got to be part of something you really can’t understand from the pictures. This year, you can watch it happen… or you can be one of them. Come find out.
