Have you ever attended an event in the Jernegan Lodge or at the Dave Norris Amphitheater, taken your kids and your four-legged buddy on a hike through the 23 acres of wooded paths, camped at one of the many tent campsites, gathered around a campfire in the middle of nowhere but right outside the city? Ever wonder how this place, The Mishawaka Res, a nature preserve, open year-round and free to the public does it all? Well, let me tell you, along with many community volunteer groups, we have a hard-working Board of Directors who do more than sit around a table making decisions. We’re out there---pulling weeds, repairing and clearing paths, removing trees, planning events, writing grants, doing our own ‘honey-do’ projects. We are a Working Board. Currently, we are accepting applications for new Board members, people who are willing to roll up their sleeves in order for the Mishawaka Res to continue its mission to serve our youth and their families for future generations. We are looking for you, those who want to help The Res in its Mission to continue the legacy of “Where Recreation and Education Meet Nature."
