And more importantly, why?

That last line matters. Without it, you get 50 comments saying “gun.” With it, you get people arguing accessibility, retention, reliability, effectiveness, training, legality, and practicality. That is where the engagement comes from.

I’d also leave the .38 Special completely out of the initial post. When someone inevitably says “I’d rather have a .38,” you can reply, “Absolutely, but then the capability gap changes substantially. I wanted to keep these two roughly comparable in overall size.” Now you have turned one comment into a conversation.

For anyone who missed the original post, Roman is the 5 year old son of one of our brothers in the fire service who was recently diagnosed with neuroblastoma. His dad is also a Marine, and his mom is a nurse. This is a family that has spent a lot of their lives serving others, and now we have a chance to be there for them.

Roman Strong keychains are $10 each, and 100% of the keychain proceeds go directly to Roman and his family.
