My wife and I decided to check out some new water this weekend and it did not disappoint! Released a handful of bigs and kept some eaters for a fish fry. Whether you’re looking to just catch some fish or throw some in the freezer, get a hold of me!!

First of all, thanks to all who have reached out and congratulated James and I. Special thanks to our wives and family for letting us get out and fish the chamber tourney again. It’s been many many years since either of us have fished it. It’s amazing what happens when a plan comes together while tourney fishing. I must say we haven’t exactly had everything click on tourney days but Friday was a whole different story.

Not knowing what to expect we settled into spot 1 and immediately saw a fish and we were hooked up and #1 was in the boat within 5 mins. #2 was shortly after and was one of the biggest fish we’ve had tourney fishing, we didn’t measure it but it had to have been over 30”. We made the decision in a no cull to throw the next two fish back that were close to 4 lbs. Around 11:30 we still only had 2 fish and were seeing a ton of fish that wouldn’t bite when out of frustration I snapped my jig/plastic super hard and had a 5.5lber fly up and about rip the rod out of my hand. Knowing that, the next 2 fish James caught both responded the same way. We knew we had a big bag and still had room for 1 more so off we went looking for a whale. We checked a couple spots and didn’t see anything to throw to and we figured we had 45 mins left so we went to another area. I saw a fish sitting by a rock and cast to it and we both kind of lost track of the fish while the boat was drifting toward it(not ideal!) when I felt a tick and our last fish was on. After a battle with the wind and the fish being under the boat we were headed in early with 33.35 lbs. All of our fish were caught doing it the way we like to fish, jig and plastic. crush city mooch minnows and jerk shadz on a 1/4 oz jig! Congrats to all the guys that cashed checks, this tourney is loaded with a lot of great anglers!

As some of you know, I have stepped away from full time guiding and am now working full time for Next Generation Gaming. Let me also introduce you to KC Outdoors, LLC. I will be offering some weekend fishing trips throughout the summer months and into the fall. This will be Saturday and Sunday trips, 4 or 6 hours. I have some lodging options I can set you up with if needed. I know there’s some past clientele that I’ve told I would no longer be able to do, I apologize, reach out again! Anyway for those of you near or even far, look me up, text me, call me or message me on FB and I will see what I can do for you!! Share away.
