Viper Pit 2026 💪🏻🐍🤼‍♂️

🦁Minerva had 11 athletes wrestling at Viper Pit this year across all age groups in both Folkstyle and Freestyle. In duals as well as individuals!

🏆 We would like to give a huge congratulations to Coach Jada- High School Girls Assistant and
Coach Perez- Middle School Assistant for their Championship wins in the 18+ women’s and men’s divisions!

💪🏻Thank you to all of the coaches who helped out this weekend! We truly appreciate the extra time and dedication that you pour into our youth/middle/high school teams!

📢 🤼 💪🏻 Open mats are resuming this week for all 6th-8th grade athletes!!!!

IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS THINKING ABOUT GIVING WRESTLING A TRY-NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO SEE IF YOU LIKE IT AND GET A JUMP START ON NEXT SEASON!

For all 6th-8th grade boys and girls:
Middle school open mats will be as follows:
Tuesdays AND Fridays- Wrestle 3p-4p then strength & conditioning 4-4:30

*everything will take place in the wrestling room-normal middle school lifting will resume once track season ends BUT please still bring your tennis shoes/running shoes as we will workout outside when we get the chance.

For all 6th-11th grade GIRLS ONLY:
Open mats will be as follows (yes you can still come to the middle school open mats on Tuesday/Friday if you are a 6th-8th grader):
Monday - wrestling 3:00-3:45, lifting 3:45-4:30.
Wednesday - wrestling 3:00-3:45, lifting 3:45-4:30.
Thursday - wrestling 4:00-4:45, lifting 4:45-5:30.

Girls WILL be lifting in the weight room on those days so tennis/running shoes are a MUST!

*If you are a 8th grade boy and would like to start attending high school open mats instead of/in addition to middle school-starting now instead of waiting until summer please let us know and we will get you that information*

Minerva was well represented this past weekend at Ohio Valley Youth Championships by a group of youth and middle school wrestlers! With nearly 30 teams competing for a team award and 85 teams represented, Minerva finished 5th overall and 2nd in the Non-OVC Large School division!

Great job to all the wrestlers who competed and represented Minerva with hard work and determination. Thank you to the coaches and families for the time and support that continues to help these athletes grow! 🤼‍♂️❤️🦁
