Milton Mandrakes

Milton Mandrakes High School Quidditch team in Milton, PA. Plan to join the IQA and in time make a run for the 2013 World Cup in Kissimmee, FL Each goal is worth 10 points.

Milton's own Quidditch (Yes, I said Quidditch) Team. Although still widely unknown, Quidditch is the fasting growing sport in the world, and we're joining in on all the fun. The Milton Mandrakes, started by Brad Dennis, are making their appearance this summer, hosting the 2012 MA World Hunger Cup. Quidditch is a sport that's growing popularity all over the world, with hundreds of schools and colle

ges across the US playing. Although it isn't played exactly how J.K. Rowling described it in the "Harry Potter" novels, its as close as we muggles can get. The game is played on broomsticks on an oval field, with 7 people to a team playing 4 different positions. The Positions:

Chaser (white head band): There are 3 chasers per team, whose goal is to throw the Quaffle into one of the 3 goal hoops of the opposing team. Be**er (black head band): There are 2 beaters per team, whose goal is to hit the chasers with a Bludger, so that the chaser will have to drop the quaffle and go back and touch his/her own goal post before returning to action

Keeper (green head band): The goal of the Keeper is to defend his/her team's three goals

Seeker (gold head band): The goal of the Seeker is to steal the flag out of the back pocket of the Snitch (A runner dressed in gold, not part of either team, who is set loose with no boundaries). When the Snitch is caught, the team is awarded 50 points, and the game is over.
