As our teams get ready for Worlds, there are a few things to remember:
1. Put in some more work.
Don’t make excuses not to give it your all—for yourself and your teammates. Every rep brings you one step closer to becoming the best version of yourself. The work you put in now can make all the difference when it matters most.
2. Don’t take this time for granted.
This time with your teammates will soon become a memory. Make sure you don’t look back and wish you had been more present. Enjoy the moments, enjoy the competition, and enjoy the people you’re sharing it with.
3. Be a good teammate.
We all struggle at some point. Whether it’s you going through a tough stretch or one of your teammates, be there for your team and find a way to contribute—both on and off the field. Sometimes your biggest contribution has nothing to do with what happens between the lines.
4. Finally, thank those who have helped you along the way.
Thank your sponsors, coaches, families, friends, and everyone else who has supported you throughout the season. We all gravitated toward softball for a multitude of reasons. Maybe it was a way to continue competing after high school or college. Maybe we found a family in softball that helped us through a tough time in life. Or maybe it’s simply because we love the game, seeing familiar faces, and meeting new ones.
Whatever your reason, respect the game and respect the people around you. The competitive season is wrapping up soon, so make these last moments count.
You never know who’s watching. Be the guy that others strive to be like—not just because of how you play, but because of how you carry yourself.
See y’all soon! 🥃 🥎
