Gave my coach this tiny fencer because every fierce warrior deserves a mini-me. Pretty sure they’re the same height, but only one of them has national titles, world-class sass, and a death glare that can parry your soul. 😂 She’s pushed me harder than anyone, called me out when I needed it, and somehow still puts up with my chaotic fencing energy. Here’s to the small ones with sharp blades and sharper comebacks. 🗡️🔥

It’s been a couple weeks since Nationals—my first competition without my dad. He was supposed to be there, cheering me on like always. I won 2 national titles, took silver in the third, and broke my chair in the process.

He was such a big part of this sport, building chairs for parafencers who didn’t have access. The weekend was full of highs, lows, and emotion.

I did it for him. Every bout, every point. Always for him. I miss you every day, Dad. 🤍

It’s taken me a long time to find the words, and honestly, I still don’t have them. My dad passed away on December 29, and I’ve struggled to put my feelings into a post because nothing can truly capture the loss.

After a month of fighting so hard following his car accident, his body just couldn’t hold on any longer. And ever since, I’ve felt lost without him. He was my biggest fan, my strongest supporter, and the most loving father I could have ever asked for. He showed up for me in every way—always cheering me on, always believing in me, always making me feel like I could do anything.

Even though time keeps moving forward, the ache of missing him doesn’t fade. There will never be enough words to describe how much he meant to me. I love you, Dad, always and forever. 🤍

Excited to be back in Colorado Springs for the first time since moving back to Salt Lake City when Jarred went overseas in August. It’s bittersweet. 🤍 I’m here until Sunday for a training camp at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Center—ready to work hard and make the most of this opportunity! 💪🏼

I was supposed to be on a flight yesterday back to the Springs from Brazil but I got delayed getting out of Atlanta to Salt Lake so I made a decision to stay with my parents in Salt Lake last night. I called Delta right before I got on my flight to Salt Lake and booked myself for tomorrow’s flight to the Springs.

Once I got to Salt Lake with my parents, I looked at my Delta app and there was no reservation for tomorrow’s Springs flight. I called Delta back and after going back and forth with them, they finally booked me on a flight to Denver that’s two hours away when it’s rush hour.

My baggage made it to the Colorado Springs Airport and since I fly out of there so often the gate agents know me by name 😂 My mom got a call last night from the Delta desk in the Springs and one of the gate agents that knows me was concerned and he was asking if I was ok because they saw my wheelchair and fencing bag but they didn’t see me. She reassured them I was ok so after Jarred picks me up from Denver tonight, we got to go down to the Springs airport and get my luggage AND THEN FINALLY HOME!!!!!!

It’s always feels good to back at my home club even though I live in Colorado now.

15 years ago today, I had something happen to me that changed my life forever. I had a stroke when I was 7 years old. It was caused by a brain aneurysm. It left me with right side hemi paresis. It was hard throughout the early years with a lot of doctors appointments and therapy. I’m married to my favorite person. I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today without my support system, my parents. Thank you to my parents for pushing me through the hard times and taking me to all of my appointments (today, they still do it)! Thank you to everyone who helped me get stronger.

It’s been awhile since I posted. I’ve had some crazy things happen to me.

- I get the opportunity fly on the Team USA plane today that I have only ever seen from afar to Korea for the U23 World Championships and a World Cup following that.

- Two weeks ago while I was in Brazil, I came home with three medals in the three weapons.

- My husband and I rescued a dog this past week. Her name is Ginger and she’s already spoiled too much.

- I attended a training camp at down in Florida. I got to train with some of my teammates I haven’t seen in awhile.

- I trained in Salt Lake City at my home club with one of my coaches

- Jarred and I got to see my family in Salt Lake City over the 4th of July. He got to experience some things he’s never seen or done before.

Overall, it’s been a good summer. I’m ready to get back into it and ready for !
