Who thinks they have what it takes to dominate a Dodgeball Tournament?

We’re considering hosting a dodgeball fundraiser in partnership with Custer Network Against Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault and want to see how many teams might be interested. If you could put together a team of 6–10 players, send us a message! If the interest is there, we’ll start planning.

We are excited to share that through individual & business donations, grants, and fundraising events, we have raised $339,125 toward the skatepark project!

Combined with generous in-kind contributions, we have successfully reached our fundraising goal of $350,000 and are moving into the next phase of the project.

Over the coming months, we will be working with Evergreen Skateparks as they evaluate the proposed site and begin the design process. We will also continue collaborating with the City throughout planning and development. Construction is currently anticipated for next summer.

We also want to publicly recognize individuals and businesses who have donated toward construction of the skatepark thus far, with a thank you to the City of Miles City for the use of the land to construct on. Your generosity is shaping the future of our community.

While our original fundraising goal has been achieved, our efforts are not over. We will continue hosting fundraising events and accepting donations to support landscaping, signage, and other enhancements that can further improve the skatepark experience.

Want to be a recognized donor for years to come and have your name on permanent signage at our skatepark? Reach out to us 🖤

We’re SO excited to share updates as the project progresses. Follow our page for upcoming fundraising events, construction updates, and opportunities to get involved!

We know, we know… we haven’t posted an update in a while. Another exciting announcement though!

We are so very grateful to the Town Pump Charitable Foundation for awarding us a grant of $10,000!

Town Pump Charitable Foundation was established with the mission of providing financial support to Montana charitable or governmental organizations, with general grants awarded to organizations with a focus within three areas: basic needs, education, and community assistance for Montana citizens. We are so appreciative they have chosen to help our community skatepark project.

We’ve probably said this a thousand times, but it’s genuinely heart warming and inspiring to have all of this local support and trust.

We also SWEAR you’ll get a fundraising update this week 🫪 We have continued to work behind the scenes this whole time to tighten up details (plus many of the CC-Rec volunteers have kids and/or full-time jobs - spring is busy!). We’ve appreciate everyone’s patience 🖤

We are thrilled to announce the MDU Resources Foundation has awarded CC-Rec a $5,000 grant towards the construction of the skatepark!

MDU Resources Group, Inc. provides the natural gas and electricity that powers business, industry, and our daily lives and constructs the pipes and wires that connect our homes, factories, offices, and stores to bring them to life across eight states, including here in Miles City with the Montana-Dakota Utilities Co.

Pretty fitting that a company that powers our community is helping us build something that will too.

We are getting close to our goal, and continued local support like this is what will get us over the finish line. If you have been thinking about giving, no better time than the present!

Just a reminder that Armadillo Storage is still matching $1,500 in donations! Please reach out if you’d like to help us meet this match!

A local business believes in this project so much, they’re backing it with $1,500 of their own money.

Armadillo Storage has offered to match donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $1,500 — and now we’re challenging 5 to 10 other businesses and individuals in our community to help us meet it. That means every dollar you give turns into two dollars for the Miles City Skatepark.

Tax refund season is here. If you’ve been sitting on a little windfall and looking for somewhere good to put even a piece of it, we have an idea of what you could do with it 😉

We’ll come to you to pick it up, or you can mail in a check to PO Box 1221, Miles City, MT 59301 made out to Custer County Recreation (We do have PayPal too, though we’d rather not feed the fee monster if we can help it.) Shoot us a message to help us meet this match!
