Love love love this! During my first pregnancy when people asked how I’m doing and my response was often positive, they would wayyy too often say “well wait until…” (as if life only gets worse and there’s some sort of comradery in bitching). This happens during every stage of life and has only continued as I’ve been a new mom.
I think those people haven’t realized that looking for the good and enjoying every stage can be a CHOICE that becomes a habit. EVERYONE experiences rough times and not everyone chooses to talk about their struggles, not bc they are being fake or not vulnerable, but maybe bc focusing on that bad doesn’t serve them/me well!
That’s all. Hop off my energy bus if your going to rain on my parade. ✌🏼
One of my biggest "pet peeves" is when I am talking to someone about my relationship with Ellie and they say "Oh you just wait" or "It gets worse"... I smile and laugh but I think to myself...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wait for what? What gets worse?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I could tell them about all that she and I have been through together but I don't bother... I understand that we have challenges ahead of us but that doesn't scare me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The only thing that scares me about the "teenage years" is that it is approaching so much quicker than I ever expected. Until then, my priority is making sure she feels loved, safe and heard.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I will tell her I love her every single day, multiple times a day, I will hold her in my arms where I know she feels the safest, I will hold space for her to tell me whatever is on her mind and offer the best advice I can give.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The future is out of my control, through out our challenges together that is the biggest lesson I have learned. Just like I tell her everyday, we have each other and if we have each other we will always be ok ✨

I’m not sure how it’s possible but I fall more in love with this girl every.single.day of my life🤍
