It is so important to build a strong foundation when it comes to performance in the human body. I was bodybuilding for 10 years, the goal was to create the most naturally aesthetic physique through heavy lifting and hypotrophy training. Now I’ve transitioned into a professional boxer, in which the training is total opposite. My body was so accustomed to slow and controlled exercises, where boxing is fast twitch, explosive, and powerful. Aches are inevitable with the switch in the limbs and ligaments, but as I grow and develop into more of an athlete I am prioritizing these functional/foundational movements to maximize my performance and longevity. I truly wish I knew of these exercises from the start of my fitness journey, would prevent a lot of injury. What other exercises do you think are important for longevity and athletic performance?
