51" osage orange, draws 67.45 lbs @ 25"
Brace height is only about 4", will fling an arrow 170 yards. Will also give your your wrist a good slapping. This is my turkey bow, short enough handle in the thick brush. Not currently for sale. Haven't shot it for a few months, you'll notice I try to start shooting when it's still upside down, lol.

Some flight shooting, trying for distance. I'm not great at getting the optimum angle, usually I angle too high, like today, lol. I got about 120 yards today. Best i've done with this particular bow is about 140 yards. Unfortunately it's difficult to see the arrows. Maybe some camera adjustments would help?
This is the static tip 64 lb longbow i'm shooting, still for sale.

65 inch black locust English longbow. Draws about 56 lbs at about 28 inches. This was one of my first good longbows and it has been shot many times. I rarely shoot it now but would be a great target bow or small game bow. I have take a few rabbits with this one.

62 inch hackberry or ash bow (can't recall which). 72lbs at about 28 inches. Not the prettiest bow but performs admirably. I call this one old ugly and it has seen plenty of shooting but is holding up well. Would be suitable for hunting or target shooting.

62 inch longbow. Could be hackberry or ash (which it is has been lost to memory). Pulls about 72 lbs at about 28 inches. I made this bow several years ago and I consider it my first "heavy bow" although everyone seems to have a different Idea of what that means. I call this one old ugly. It was a wierdly grained, wormy deflex stave and was difficult to tiller. After manny tillering adjustments and still not being satisfied, I decided to string it up and try to break it. To my surprise, not only would it not break, it performs pretty well.
Price: $250.00USD

Trying out a thumb ring I made from whitetail antler. I am still new to this method, so don't laugh too hard, i'm already laughing at myself enough. This method would have been employed by horse archers, and many eastern militaries in the medieval era and probably longer. With this method the string is locked in between the thumb and pointer finger, the arrow is knocked on the right side of the bow and extra arrows can be held in the free fingers of your draw hand. There are advantages to this method such as a cleaner draw and better control of the arrow while on horseback. There are also disadvantages, like not being able to pull as high a draw weight (without substantial practice ). Overall I do see promise for thumb draw in hunting and target shooting I just need alot more practice.
