The Trojans and Mr. Griffin finally caught Phil and gave him a good scolding, telling him we have had ENOUGH of winter. 🥶🦫❄️

While the warmer temperatures and rain have helped with thawing, many neighborhoods and side streets are still covered in ice and remain unsafe for bus travel. For the safety of all students and staff, Millington Municipal Schools will be CLOSED on Wednesday, February 4.🚍⚠️

Central Office employees will need to report to work tomorrow. If it is still unsafe for you to travel, please contact your supervisor. The safety of everyone is our top concern. ❤️

This will be Day 8 of our inclement weather days.📅❄️ Since many districts across the state are facing similar challenges, we are working closely with the Commissioner of Education at the state level to ensure our next steps align with their guidance. Adding days to the school calendar would be an absolute last resort and is not currently planned. While we are hopeful we will not need to go beyond our current days, we have begun working through contingency plans should we reach a ninth weather day. Any calendar changes would require approval from the Tennessee Department of Education before being shared publicly.

🥶❄️ The Trojans continue to give it their best effort, but even the best Trojans can’t quite dig Superintendent Griffin out of this snow just yet!

❄️ Due to ongoing conditions, Millington Municipals Schools and Offices will remain closed through Wednesday, January 28.

While you’re home, this is the perfect time to:
🧼 Clean out and wash backpacks
🧥 Wash jackets and coats
🦠 Kick those germs to the curb

The Middle School Lady Trojans delivered an impressive performance on their home field, defeating West Jr. High with a final score of 4–2.

The team displayed excellent coordination and resilience throughout the match, securing a well-earned win.

Scoring contributions came from a strong offensive lineup:

Layla Steffenhagen (8th grade, Midfielder) opened the scoring with a goal assisted by Kennedy West (7th grade, Forward).

Kennedy West followed with a goal of her own, continuing her standout performance.

Lisbeth Fernandez (8th grade, Midfielder) added to the lead with a goal assisted by West, marking West’s second assist of the game.

Ava Meeks (6th grade, Midfielder) capped off the scoring with a goal, assisted by Fernandez.

Lady Trojan Soccer Team Secures Dominant 8–0 Victory at Home

The Middle School Lady Trojan Soccer Team delivered an impressive performance on their home field, earning a commanding 8–0 win over Haywood Millington Middle.
