Last month, the Middle Baptist Church Young Adults and I studied the topic, “Overcoming Rejection.” I know for me, Holy Spirit revealed a lot of pain that had been suppressed over the years caused by the spirit of rejection which caused me to seek acceptance from those around me. I now know from whom my acceptance comes from according to Ephesians 1:3-6. We also walked through this 30 Day journal by Athena Shack which was a huge blessing! Want to begin your healing? The spirit of rejection comes to make you feel like you’re not enough, looked over, and not accepted. This leads to looking for acceptance and affirmation, false identity, self sabotage, etc. Jesus took rejection upon Himself so that we could overcome it. We can receive healing and deliverance by accepting the love of God and walk in the spirit of sonship the Christ gives us.

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”

As a lot of us are in the “cutting phase” of our fitness journey, I want to encourage being in the consecration phase of our spiritual journey. When cutting, the goal is to cut the excess fat off of our bodies, which includes getting rid or cutting down on foods we don’t need, making better habits/food choices, and doing the things necessary to living a healthy lifestyle. Let’s do the same with our healthy spiritual lifestyle: cutting out things that keeps us distant from God, increase prayer time/time with God, and listening/hearing the Word. Allow the Holy Spirit to direct us into holiness and righteousness.
