Exciting Coaching Staff Updates at Steel City Aquatics!
I’m excited to share some great news with our Steel City Aquatics family and the swimming community! As I settle into my role as Head Coach, I’m looking forward to building on the strong foundation already in place and continuing to grow our program. I’m thrilled to welcome two new coaches and a familiar face back to the pool deck!
Welcome Back, Marian Sossong!
I’m excited to welcome Marian back to Steel City Aquatics as an Assistant Coach! A Clarion University graduate with a degree in Education, Marian brings nearly two decades of experience teaching and coaching swimmers of all ages and abilities. Since first joining Moon Aqua Club in 2011, she has served in a variety of coaching and leadership roles. After taking time away to start her family, Marian is ready to return to the pool deck and help our swimmers build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve their goals. Her favorite motto says it all: “Be a doer!”
Welcome, Natalia Santilli!
Natalia joins our coaching staff with a strong connection to the local swimming community. A former Chartiers Valley record-setting relay swimmer who continued her career at Penn State Behrend, Natalia has been teaching swimming since age 15 and has experience coaching middle and high school athletes. She emphasizes strong fundamentals, technical development, consistency, and confidence while helping swimmers reach their goals and develop a lifelong love of the sport.
Welcome, Coach Chris Santilli!
Chris joins us as an Assistant Coach, bringing competitive swimming experience and a strong background in coaching and aquatics leadership. A former Chartiers Valley swimmer, Chris qualified for the PIAA State Championships twice before returning to coach the Colts. He was named head varsity coach in 2025 after helping lead both the boys and girls teams to section championships during the 2024–2025 season. Chris also serves as Aquatics Coordinator for Upper St. Clair Township and emphasizes discipline, teamwork, personal improvement, and a competitive mindset.
Looking Ahead
I’m excited about what lies ahead for Steel City Aquatics! Marian, Natalia, and Chris each bring valuable experience and a passion for helping swimmers succeed. Alongside our dedicated coaching staff, we’ll continue working to create an environment where every athlete can grow, challenge themselves, and reach their potential in and out of the pool.
Thank you to our swimmers and families for your continued support. I’m proud to be part of this community and can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!
Please join me in welcoming Marian, Natalia, and Chris to the Steel City Aquatics family. Go Steel City!
