NEW POLICY
Dear Val-Co Tactical Clients,
At Val-Co Tactical, your safety is and always will be our highest priority. I’m writing to inform you of an important policy change regarding the use of the SIG Sauer P320 on our premises. Effective immediately, Val-Co Tactical will no longer allow the use of the SIG Sauer P320/M17/M18 and all variants, whether personally owned or issued as a duty weapon.
Why this decision is being made:
While the P320 has gained popularity among both civilian and professional shooters, the growing safety concerns surrounding its design and functionality cannot be ignored—even following SIG Sauer’s Voluntary Upgrade Program. Despite internal updates meant to address unintentional discharges, the core design of the Fire Control Unit (FCU) remains under significant scrutiny.
A recent accidental discharge at Warren Air Force Base tragically resulted in the death of an airman, raising serious concerns about the platform's safety.
Multiple law enforcement agencies across the U.S., including both state and federal departments, have removed the P320 from service due to similar risks.
Numerous shooting ranges nationwide have enacted bans on the P320 pending further action and transparency from SIG Sauer.
At Val-Co Tactical, we believe that no amount of popularity or name recognition justifies compromising safety. While all fi****ms carry inherent risk, the P320 has shown an unacceptable pattern of failure even under responsible use.
This decision was not made lightly. Our mission is to provide an environment where safety, education, and trust are never compromised. We will continue to closely monitor legal developments, manufacturer responses, and independent testing. Should future corrections be made and independently validated, we will reassess this policy.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have questions about this policy or need help selecting alternative fi****ms for training, we’re happy to assist.
Respectfully,
Joe Wiggins
