We do not ask for perfection from our players. We simply ask them to be the best version of themselves on and off the football field. When you wear your team jersey… you are representing your team you are representing Vinton County Youth football. What you do how you act reflects on your team and the program. There has been some behavior lately that just isn’t acceptable. We not only look at how good our players can be on the field but also what kind of person and characteristics they have off the field as well. Taunting the rival team going on their sidelines having parents come over with their concerns because of what is being said. Yes a little crap talking is fine but it was taken too far. We do not harass the teams we play. We will not do it. We will not stand for tearing down your own team mates and disrespect. We will not tolerate any disrespect towards the team or organization. Putting on that jersey and being a Viking football player isn’t about the s**t talking, thinking you have bragging rights and can say and do whatever you please. It’s about your team! It’s about coming together and accomplishing something together by the end of the play clock. It’s about bonding and learning. Representing your community and having the younger kids look up to you and see someone WORTH IT. Let’s do better.
