9/19 race recap

Not the night we were looking for but it was still a solid night of racing.

Unfortunately we were unable to get any practice due to work. But went out for qualifying and ended up 6th out of 18 cars so pretty solid for going into it without being able to make adjustments through practice.

Feature 1 started p3 was running good sitting 3rd then on a restart tried the high side to hopefully be able to get a good run and get out front but just wasn’t able to hang and got shuffled to the back to about 9th and finished p8

Feature 2 started p1 and was leading and felt we were really good until about 14 to go got passed and just couldn’t get back up to the leader after we got passed to make anything happen. Finished p2.

We’ve progressed every race this year and need to just keep digging for that first feature win!

THE MID-AM RACING SERIES HEADS NORTH! 🏁

This Friday night, the Mid-Am Racing Series travels to Norway Speedway for The North Run, bringing together veterans, championship contenders, rising stars, and local favorites for 44 laps of short track racing in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The local crowd will have plenty of drivers to cheer for as three Upper Peninsula racers look to defend home turf:

⭐ Joey Pontbriand ( #00) – Norway Hill, MI
⭐ Kyle McMahon ( #32) – Skandia, MI
⭐ Jeremy Yelle ( #92) – Gwinn, MI

Can the locals hold off the Mid-Am regulars?

The championship battle is beginning to take shape, and the top five in points tell a story of veterans versus the next generation.

Leading the standings is Kenny Richards. The Montello, Wisconsin veteran has won on dirt and asphalt, at bullrings and larger tracks alike. Richards has seen it all and remains one of the most respected racers in the Midwest.

Daniel Calhoun sits second in points and continues his pursuit of a breakthrough victory. Calhoun has earned fast times and heat race wins throughout his Mid-Am career, but that first feature victory remains just out of reach.

Cameron Vandermeir enters Norway tied for second in points after earning his first Mid-Am feature win earlier this season at Wisconsin International Raceway. In a story few could script, Vandermeir celebrated that first victory and graduated high school the very next day.

Fourth in points is rookie Kellen Arnold III. While new to the Mid-Am championship chase, Arnold is no stranger to racing near the front. Multiple runner-up finishes this season have shown the speed is there. The question now is when that first Mid-Am victory arrives.

Rounding out the top five is Connor Kosowski. After committing to run the full Mid-Am schedule in 2026, Kosowski has become one of the series' most consistent drivers. Week after week he finds himself near the front, and like Calhoun and Arnold, he continues to chase that elusive first feature win.

Will experience prevail?

Will a young star continue their rise?

Or will a local favorite defend home turf?

6/13 race recap
We had another great night of racing with the Mid-Am Racing Series in round 3 at Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center.

Went out for practice and car felt good it just was really wanting to step out on exit so we made some adjustments and went out for another practice session and the car felt really good.

Qualified 5th out of 21 cars and felt we had a really good car to run up front!

Heat race started p5 and finished p5 just cruised with the pack to save tires and keep it clean as the track was in less than ideal condition due to some spotty rain.

Feature started p7 and started working our way through once we were able to get to the high side. Then we almost got caught up in a wreck in front of us but we were able to avoid it. Got our spot back and was sitting about p5. Kept picking off some more spots and capitalized on a few restarts and was able to have another great 2nd place finish!
