UARA Update

Friday night, we drew for the qualifying lineup and drew 12th.

Saturday, we started the day with two and a half hours of practice total. We used it all and didn't figure the car out until about two hours and twenty-five minutes in.

We went out in qualifying, and to our surprise, we qualified 12th out of 18.

In the feature, we started 12th. The car was really tight, and we fell back to 15th. We had a caution with 108 laps to go, and then it started to rain. After the track was dry, we were able to reset tire pressures, which I wasn't allowed to know (my team chose the pressures for me, but they told me it would help). We restarted 15th, and after running 108 non-stop green flag laps, we drove up and finished 12th. What a day! I absolutely love going to war with my crew against these bigger teams with my little operation. We never give up, and it shows.

7/17 Madison International Speedway Update

We qualified 10th out of 14.

Feature 1: We started 9th. After about 10 laps, the handling changed, and I could hear and feel something was wrong. We diagnosed it over the radio, and it was a sway bar issue. We still drove up to 5th. We had a late restart, got used up, and finished 6th.

Feature 2: We had too much damage to the sway bar, so we ended up pulling it off. Ripper had a crazy idea, so we tried it. We started 3rd and drove up to the lead. With about 20 laps to go, a caution came out. With about 10 laps to go, we ended up giving up a couple of positions and finished 3rd.

At the end of the day, we never gave up. A massive thank you to my crew, sponsors, and fans. Our next race is the UARA Super Late Model race at Golden Sands Speedway on 8/1.
