A few of our Mayville wrestlers made it out to Waupan for the youth tournament today! All of them had some success in the mats. Great job C**t, Deana, and Tustin! Here are some results:

We had a great turnout today in Grafton, where our young athletes competed for a championship ring. Six of our wrestlers demonstrated exceptional determination, and here are the results. Tustin achieved a perfect 3-0 record and took home a ring. Devin, with no opponents in his bracket, also secured a ring. Mason went 3-1, earning a second-place finish. Levi finished with a 2-2 record, securing third place. JJ went 1-3, placing fourth. Lastly, Deana, competing in a challenging six-man bracket, finished with a 1-4 record, earning fifth place. All our wrestlers exhibited remarkable resilience and had several outstanding matches. While there are areas for improvement, it's noteworthy that for all but two of these wrestlers, this was their first match of the season. As coaches, we couldn't be prouder of their performance. We extend our gratitude to the parents for entrusting us with the opportunity to mentor these young wrestlers and witness their growth in this exceptional sport.

Today, two of our wrestlers participated in the Ranger Rumble at UW Parkside, demonstrating perseverance throughout the competition. Tustin secured a second-place finish with a 2-1 record, while Mason earned third place with a 2-2 record. Both wrestlers performed admirably, and their coaches are proud. Next weekend, December 14th, two coaches will attend the Grafton tournament. If your children are interested in participating and require assistance with registration, please consult with one of the coaches during Monday's practice. We encourage all interested children to compete.

Practice for 2nd to 8th graders has commenced. We look forward to collaborating with these students this year and observing their growth in this sport. Practices are scheduled every Monday this month.

Mayville Youth Wrestling Club Information Session:
Parents, join us to learn more about the program and opportunities for your children!

When: Tuesday, November 11th, 6pm
Where: Mayville Elementary School Cafeteria

Practices will be divided into two groups K-1 and 2-8 grades. Practice schedule will be dependent on the age group. The older group will have Monday practices in December then extended to Mondays and Tuesdays in January/February. The younger group will practice on Mondays in January/February.

Please note: Club wrestling is our community based program which is separate from the Mayville Middle School Team (6th-8th grade). We encourage older wrestlers to do both if they want to get the most out of their wrestling season. The school season first begins in February.

Completion of this form authorizes the child listed to participate in the Mayville Youth Wrestling Team for the 2026 Season and serves as formal acknowledgement of the "Athlete, Parent and Coach Code of Conduct Agreement". A form must be completed for EACH child.

It is that time of year - we are once again looking for volunteers for Mayville Gun Club's Annual Tractor Pull. The Youth Wrestling Club is in charge of parking and coordinating the main concession stand. In return for providing volunteers for this event, the Gun Club makes a generous donation to our club.

Jill and Courtney will be the leads for the Concession Stand and Coaches will be the leads for Parking/Garbage Removal. We have split the event into shifts. The sign-up below outlines which areas we need ADULT support. We are looking for parents, older siblings (high school or older), aunts, uncles, grandparents, neighbors, family friends to fill these positions. Kids are welcome to come with parents to assist with garbage/can pick up and to enjoy the event.

Mayville will NOT be hosting the big conference event this year - this is our big fundraising event for the 2025-26 season. For families that participate, the CLUB FEE element associated with participating in the youth program will be waived.

When: Sunday, July 20th

Congratulations to Mason Pieper (2014-2015, 120lb) and Chuck Gonstead (2010-2011, 140lb)! They will represent Mayville at the WWF Kids Folkstyle State Championships in Madison this weekend. Mason will wrestle on Friday and Chuck on Saturday.

We had a great end to our wrestling season yesterday in Horicon. We had a lot of great wrestling and got to see the unbelievable progression from the beginning of the season. I want to thank all the families, coaches and board members for a great season. We look forward to next season. Attached are some pictures from the tournament yesterday. Thank you Kiera Pieper for taking pictures for us. Also sorry if she missed some kids, there was a lot going on all at once. Good luck to all the wrestlers that are trying to qualify for state next weekend.
