When I was watching the JH football game last night, I realized that all of the cheerleaders are also on the JH girls basketball team! Great to see them excel in so many things. Hope they have a strong cheer squad from the stands this upcoming season!

On Day 2 of youth camp the kids continued to work on triple threat positioning and added passing! They also worked on defensive slides and close outs. To end we worked on developing a good shot from under the basket! Lots of progress!

Day 1 of youth basketball camp is in the books! 31 ballers showed up! They worked on triple threat and a lot of ball handling today!

The JH girls wrapped up their summer basketball yesterday! Lots of progress was made this past month!

Thank you parents for supporting the program bringing them to shootouts and practices!

The HS girls wrapped up summer basketball with our home shootout. We hosted 21 games over the past three days, playing in 7 of them. The past month the girls continue to grow together and have improved each week!

Looking forward to November!

The HS girls traveled to King City today to play in their shootout and came home with two wins! They get better each day!

Next week is our last week of summer basketball for the HS girls as we host our annual shootout!

Throwback Thursday!

Newspaper articles from March and April 1974. The board approves girls basketball and wrestling for the 74-75 school year. This was also the first year of the New Gym being opened.

Maysville had girls basketball in the 1920s and it was replaced with volleyball, which played until around 1954 (and brought back to the school in 2019 and as a varsity sport in 2022).

The JH Girls were at it again! We split the girls into two evenly matched teams and played King City in two games, winning both!

The third game the girls played each other… with refs and a crowd! Coach Klip coached the Black team and Coach Zimmerman coached the White team. That game ended in a 20-20 tie!

What a fun night of basketball! Thank you to all were able to come watch.
