🏀 Multiple Players Team Up To Lead Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers Past Giles County

Miles Musser scored 18 points and Tayden Taylor had a big game as Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers defeated Giles, 56-38, on Thursday. Tayden scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Miles Musser scored 18 points to lead the Pioneers.

Leading 11-5, Fort Chiswell went on a 16-point run to pull further away. The Pioneers had a strong first half, leading 35-20 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory.

Fort Chiswell found their groove in the first quarter, outscoring Giles 29-7. The team shot 13-18 in the quarter.

The Pioneers scored at will in the paint. They went 23-34 on twos. Shot well from distance, going 3-7 from three. The Pioneers controlled the paint, grabbing 39 rebounds. Tayden Taylor led the team with 13 rebounds. Cruz Skinner knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for Fort Chiswell. They passed the ball well with 22 assists on 26 made baskets. Cruz led the team with seven assists. Fort Chiswell Pioneers stood tall, blocking four shots in the game. Bryton Viars led the team with three blocks. Additional scorers for the Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers included Tayden Taylor (12 points), Angler Dunford (10 points), Cruz Skinner (8 points), Grant Viars (4 points), Coleman Kirby (2 points), and Bryton Viars (2 points).

🏀 Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers Fend Off Grayson County

Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers built a 12-point lead before hanging on for the 48-43 victory over Grayson County on Monday at Fort Chiswell High School.

Bryton Viars scored 12 points to lead Fort Chiswell.

The Pioneers captured the win despite trailing 19-17 at halftime. Leading 34-32, the Pioneers went on an 8-point run to pull further away.

The Pioneers played particularly well in the third quarter, outscoring Grayson County 17-11.

They had a great day shooting from inside the arc, finishing 13-23 on twos. The Pioneers rebounded the ball well, collecting 44 rebounds. Tayden Taylor led the team with 17 rebounds. Cruz Skinner knocked down two shots from beyond the arc for Fort Chiswell. The Pioneers passed the ball well with 11 assists on 17 made baskets. They blocked seven shots in the game. Bryton Viars led the team with four blocks. Also contributing for Fort Chiswell Middle were Angler Dunford (11 points), Miles Musser (11 points), Cruz Skinner (8 points), Tayden Taylor (4 points), and Grant Viars (2 points).

Fort Chiswell moves to 4-1 this year and will travel to Rural Retreat for their next game on Tuesday

🏀 Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers Beat The Rural Retreat Indians With The Deep Ball And A Tough Defensive Showing

Angler Dunford scored 17 points to lead Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers past Rural Retreat, 70-10, on Thursday at Fort Chiswell High School.

The Pioneers controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up the advantage. The lead reached a peak of 60 points at 68-8.

The Pioneers went on a 30-point run to start the game. Leading 33-6, Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers went on a 35-2 run to pull further away. The Pioneers got out to a 41-6 lead at halftime before closing out the victory.

Miles Musser poured in 11 points in the first quarter as Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers outscored Rural Retreat 20-2

The Pioneers's 17-22 shooting on twos was a key factor in the game. Cruz Skinner, Cale Porter, Angler Dunford, and Miles Musser each hit multiple three-pointers for Fort Chiswell Middle School. The team shot 11-18 (61%) from beyond the arc. Fort Chiswell passed the ball well with 18 assists on 28 made baskets. Tayden Taylor led The Pioneers with seven rebounds. Additional scorers for Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers included Miles Musser (16 points), Cale Porter (14 points), Tayden Taylor (7 points), Cruz Skinner (6 points), Bryton Viars (6 points), and Grant Viars (4 points).

🏀 Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers Beat Bland County Behind Big Performance from Cruz Skinner

Bland County, VA — Monday, November 11, 2025

A strong performance from Cruz Skinner powered the Fort Chiswell Middle School Pioneers to a 45–21 victory over Bland County at Bland County High School. Skinner led all scorers with 17 points, helping Fort Chiswell turn a tight first half into a dominant win.

Despite trailing 13–12 at halftime, the Pioneers regrouped and surged ahead behind energetic defense and teamwork. Leading 21–16, Fort Chiswell went on an 11-point run to widen the gap, then closed the game with a 13–2 run to seal the victory.

The third quarter was the team’s best, as Fort Chiswell outscored Bland County 18–3. Skinner caught fire during that stretch, dropping 13 points in the period.

Fort Chiswell’s 15-for-30 shooting on two-point attempts was a major factor in the win. The Pioneers also dominated the boards with 43 rebounds, led by Tayden Taylor with 10 rebounds.

Cruz Skinner added two three-pointers and led the team with three steals. The Pioneers shared the ball well, recording 10 assists on 17 made baskets, and came away with 12 team steals.
