After an incredible turn out during the 2025-26 youth wrestling season, we’ve received great feedback and will launch a new program for the 2026-27 season.

Ascend will offer an Elite youth group for the 2026-27 season that will run from November 3 to April 28. Any wrestler who is part of this group must be accepted by our coaching staff. The group will be capped at only 30 wrestlers. Last year we had over 65 kids in our youth group, so we expect this to cap out.

Those who register as part of this group have the opportunity to wrestle at many regional and national level tournaments throughout the midwest, as we are putting together a comprehensive competition schedule for the year.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of a wonderful member of our Ascend Wrestling family, Amy Schmeding.

Amy was the loving wife of Mike and an incredible mother to Autumn, Andrew, and Aidan. Our hearts are with the entire Schmeding family during this incredibly difficult time.

Amy was a wonderful mom who was always there supporting her kids in everything they did. She was a familiar face at practices and competitions, always cheering, encouraging, and showing up for her family. Her amazing smile, positive energy, and presence will be deeply missed by everyone in the Ascend family.

To Mike, Autumn, Andrew, Aidan, and the entire Schmeding family: we are mourning with you, praying for you, and lifting your family up in prayer. Please know that your Ascend family is here for you and loves you.

Great weekend for Ascend at the RAF Next Gen Tournament!

4 of our wrestlers stepped up and tested themselves against some great competition. We also got to experience a RAF event for the first time, and it was an absolute blast. Great wrestling, lots of laughs, and an awesome weekend.

What a way to end our Summer Session!

We wrapped up an awesome summer with a pool party to celebrate the commitment of our wrestlers and families. We practiced through some long, hot summer days, and the hard work and dedication never stopped.

A huge thank you to our coaches for all the time, energy, and commitment you poured into our wrestlers this summer.

Now it’s time for two weeks off to recharge, and then we’re back and ready for the Fall Session!
