Candida what?

Candida die off is an immune response to large amounts of yeast cells being killed off inside your gut. Toxins are released and can often make you feel worse before you feel better during this process.

To minimize symptoms, stay hydrated, rest, eat plenty of nutrients rich foods, and support your liver. This is a primary part of "the flush". We want to PURIFY the gut and PROVIDE it the nutrients it deserves!

❓ Is your body adapting or just surviving?

Most people don't realize their body is always adapting, but the real question is how. When our body is making progress it is proadapting, when it is burnt out, inflamed, and frustrated then it is maladapting.

Our bodies are designed to adapt to stress, workouts, food, sleep, emotions... Everything. When stress is supported with proper recovery, you grow stronger. When stress is not supported then your body will start to break down. In this case your body is adapting and saying " I'm doing my best with what you give me."

Changing up your daily schedule and routines can seem daunting, but with proper evaluation and preparation it can become easy.

I am currently changing up my daily routines and putting myself through a gut detox called "the Flush". I was given a meal plan by my coach that incorporates a lot of fish, vegetables, and even smoothies to drink morning and night. I evaluated the meal plan thoroughly along with the food exchange list that I could pick from and created a grocery list so that I could walk into the store knowing exactly what I needed.

Once I got home I meal prepped as much as I possibly could and portioned out dishes so that throughout the week I wouldn't be urged to snack on things that were not within my meal plan, and could easily grab the foods I was ready to consume to save time. A lot of work was put in on this day, but it is worth it to make the rest of the week more simplified.

I was given a supplement schedule as well, so I purchased a supplement organizer so that I knew exactly what I was taking at different times of the day and didn't have to sort through any bottles as the week went on.

The goals of this flush is to open up the liver, balance my thyroid, reduce inflammation, and address adrenal function, etc so that I can start feeling like myself again. I know a lot of these symptoms that I experience are related to stress, so I'm hoping that by following this plan I can see a reduction in symptoms and start feeling more energized, have less anxiety, and have better sleep again.

👀You may see people wearing blood glucose monitors, or CGMs, everywhere you go these days.

There is a benefit for those who have insulin resistance or may be diabetic to monitor their glucose levels. This allows for more informed decisions to be made about the foods and beverages you consume throughout the day, the physical activities you partake in (and if you're getting enough daily movement), and the medications you take. Keeping your blood sugar levels within a certain range can help prevent other health problems that could be linked to diabetes as well.

✴️You need a plan in order to achieve long-term results. With no plan, the desire to change will continue to stay a desire and bad habits will repeat themselves.

✴️Your system should include routines that are small and easy to do. Start small with just 1-2 changes in your routine and add more as time goes on. This will compound growth over time.

Changing your life isn’t just about setting new goals—it’s about digging deeper. Goals are the outer layer, habits are the daily actions that move you closer, but at the very core are your beliefs, assumptions, and biases. If those don’t shift, nothing else sticks. 1️⃣Progress won't be linear - your weight will fluctuate. Therefore, it's best to concentrate on averages and the overall trend, rather than specific numbers.
2️⃣You will get uncomfortable - a calorie deficit will lead to some hunger and fatigue, that's why this phase should stay short (approx. 12 weeks)
3️⃣We can only control our behaviors, not our outcomes - focus on changing your behavior rather than the uncontrollables
4️⃣Your performance won't peak - continue to push yourself, but know that performance gains are not the main goal in this phase
5️⃣Self-love is not guaranteed with being lean - give yourself grace and remind yourself what your intrinsic motivators are to help you reach your goals and feel proud
