Marshalltown Park and Rec Super Stars Special Olympics The Marshalltown Super Star Special Olympics is a delegation run by the Marshalltown Parks and Recreation serving both Adult and children with special needs.

Helping them participate and engage in sports activities while developing a strong community.

In A League of their Own…. Adaptive Needs Baseball Play
At Hogies Playground Park
407 E Marion st, Marshalltown, Iowa
on Sunday afternoons 3 pm.

Interested special needs adults can register to play- its free, non-competitive, and can play once or the whole 5 week summer season

Asking for volunteers to sign up to assist players play ball.

SUMMER GAME DAYS: (weather permitting)
Sundays 3 pm Personal Injury Waiver Release required for all participants.
Sorry, at this time it is not wheelchair accessible for play

Our Games Consist of:
Modified grass Baseball Diamond to lesson distances of game play with larger base areas.

All play in turn, unless enough participants to put into teams then it will be team rotational batting/field

Everyone gets to bat until they hit (no 3 strikes/Out) Softball Tees used

Everyone gets to catch/throw ball in field
(if have enough participants to make teams on field) otherwise Angels in the Outfields will throw with them. When in play with teams, runner/walker can go as many bases as wants/can before players in field have ball in hand then they must stop at nearest base to wait for next batter play.
Run/Walk to bases towards home base

Parents/caretakers can assist on field
Bring your own lawn chairs
Players can use own equipment

Organization Fundraiser vendors welcome to set up during games. No electric currently available. Just need to advise of intent/product.

The Taekwondo class bake sale results from Friday's events totalled $1000 for their enhancement equipment ..thank you Marshalltown community and friends. Class happily presented a special check designed by Andrea Bolen and presented by Deanna Bolen, a framed picture of Marshalltown Special Olympics Taekwondo students presented by Rose Cormeny, and our sweet flower man Blaine Fisher presented beautiful flower bouquet to show appreciation to Tammy Airey - their beloved Taekwondo instructor. Well done class, whoo-hoo!!

Here at the Marshalltown Hy-Vee, we want to give a huge shoutout to our employee Robbie Beard. If you didn’t know, Robbie was just inducted into the Iowa Special Olympics Hall of Fame. For those of you who don’t know him, it’s well deserved; he always has a huge smile and puts his heart into everything he does. Congratulations, Robbie, from your Hy-Vee family!
