Another unforgettable season for Mars Varsity Track & Field 💙💛

As we reflect on this season, we want to recognize our end-of-season award winners, highlighting outstanding performances by grade level along with several breakout stars who made a huge impact throughout the year.

From an incredible regular season to a strong postseason showing, our athletes continued to represent Mars with pride, determination, and hard work every step of the way. The future of this program is bright, and our coaches couldn’t be more proud of everything this team accomplished.

Last night, we also had the opportunity to celebrate and recognize our Class of 2026 athletes with a special senior awards recognition. Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to the program. We wish you all the best in your future!

What a finish. 🔥

Senior Colton Rearick punched his ticket to the PIAA State Championships in Shippensburg with an incredible performance at yesterday’s WPIAL Championships, finishing 4th against one of the toughest fields in the state. His final lap showed exactly what championship racing is all about — determination, grit, and heart.

That closing kick not only earned him a spot on the podium, but the opportunity to compete with the very best high school runners in Pennsylvania next week. Let’s Go Colton!

Best of luck to our Mars WPIAL Qualifiers as they head to Slippery Rock University for the 2026 WPIAL Track & Field Championships!

These 21 athletes will compete against some of the top talent in the WPIAL while proudly representing Mars in their respective events. Top finishers will earn the opportunity to advance to the PIAA State Track & Field Championships in Shippensburg, PA.

⭐️A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to the Mars Varsity Track & Field athletes who have qualified for the WPIAL (District 7) Individual Championships!⭐️

These incredible athletes have earned their spot among the Top 24 competitors in their respective events across all AAA schools in the district — an amazing accomplishment!

And talk about showing up strong… Mars will be represented by SEVEN female athletes and FOURTEEN male athletes at the championships! 💪💙 We couldn’t be more proud of this group and all the hard work they’ve put in this season.

The WPIAL Championships will take place Wednesday, May 13, at Slippery Rock University, where the top finishers will punch their ticket to the PIAA State Track & Field Championships in Shippensburg on May 22–23.

Yesterday at the Butler Jr. High Invitational, our Mars Middle School track & field athletes wrapped up the season in incredible fashion! From start to finish, it was an awesome day filled with determination, teamwork, and outstanding performances across the board.

We saw tons of personal bests, countless strong finishes, and many of our athletes earned spots on the podium against tough competition. To top it all off, one of our athletes, Andrew Hasenkopf was named Meet MVP!! Our team really competed with the best of the best from around the region!

This meet was the perfect way to close out the middle school track & field season, and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort, attitude, and growth shown by every athlete. The future of Mars track & field is looking incredibly bright!

Huge congratulations to all of our amazing Mars Middle School athletes for their performances at Wednesday’s Jim Ledonne Invitational at North Allegheny High School! 👏💙

Our athletes showed up ready to compete, earned tons of new PRs, and rose to the challenge against some of the best middle school athletes in the area. So proud of the hard work, determination, and grit displayed on the track and on the field.

What a week for Mars Pole Vault! 🔥💙💛

The school record has continued to fall in incredible fashion over the last few weeks, but these past few days have been something special.

After reclaiming the record at 9’8.5 on April 24 at Senior Riley Carrel kept climbing:

⭐ May 7 — cleared 9’9
⭐ May 9 — cleared 9’10
⭐ And then… BROKE THE 10-FOOT BARRIER!!! 🚀🎉

Riley continues to stand as the Mars school record holder at an incredible 10’0”!

Next up: Riley qualified for the WPIAL Individual Championships at Slippery Rock on Wednesday, May 13. Let’s keep it going! 💪💙💛
