This weekend Als boxing club sent 4 fighters to the king of the jungle national tournament. Lots of boxing lessons to take away but more importantly all of our fighters learned an important life lesson- when things don’t go your way, focus on what you can control.

We lost some close decisions, had some bad calls, got hit with low blows, and had tough competition. All those things were outside of our control, but what we will work on going forward is “focus in the fire”.
Anyone who’s been hit in the face with a good 1-2 will tell ya it’s not easy to keep it together when the leather flys. So the lesson boils down to making sure we take care of the 3 things we can control
1. work hard in training
2. listen to coach Al
3. leave it all in the ring win or lose

We are proud of our fighters for their hard work and dedication and representing Al’s boxing club with class and good fundamentals. Thank you to Ringside King Of The Jungle National Championships for having us. We will be back 🥊

Our first boxer of the tournament Brian Macdevitt-Dunn completed his run at the King Of The Jungle

After losing a close decision in a tough fought bout the first fight, Brian came back with determination and grit to win his match bout yesterday. He finished the weekend 1-1 - lessons learned, experience gained, and the journey continues 🥊
