Wildcat/Marquette Historical European Martial Arts - HEMA

Wildcat/Marquette Historical European Martial Arts - HEMA Community-based group promoting the scholarship and practice of Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) within Marquette, Michigan. Spectators are welcome.

During the NMU school year, we meet every other Sunday from 5-6:30p in Dance Studio #130 within the PEIF to learn techniques, spar, partake in drills, and to ultimately enjoy historical European martial arts. We focus primarily on German long-sword, but explore other sword arts as well (rapier, saber). Community members and students all welcome. This is an open group where individuals may attend a

s they please. Gear is provided, but may be limited at times; participants are welcome to bring their own gear as long as it doesn't have sharp edges. A one-time $15 donation per annual school year is encouraged and highly appreciated to help support the group in evolving and in meeting the needs of those who attend. Our HEMA group is all-age, all-gender inclusive and welcoming.

Another semester is in action! Here are the dates that we have reserved for dance room #130 at the PEIF, meeting from 5-6:30p:

And yes, we are meeting tomorrow! Apologies for the late notice, we were waiting to get confirmation of the reservation. Looking forward to seeing whoever can join us this semester! ⚔️

Hey, folks!!

We'll be getting back to it this upcoming Sunday, the 14th, to kick off our Fall 2025 semester meetings. Our current schedule is as follows:

September 14th
September 28th
October 12th
October 26th
November 9th
December 7th

All meetings will be in our usual Dance Studio #130 at the PEIF. Our meeting time has changed to 5-6:30p for all meetings this semester.
