We want to say thank you to everyone who has supported the Maxima Racing Oils x Back in Black Racing and the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Drag Racing Series this season.

Obviously, this isn’t the news anyone wanted to hear, and we hate it for the racers, teams, sponsors, track staff, and fans who pour so much into this sport. We know how much work, time, and sacrifice goes into getting these cars down the track, and we appreciate every person who has been behind us through it all.

To our sponsors, crew, family, friends, and fans — thank you for continuing to believe in our program and stand with us. Your support means more than we can put into words.

While the remainder of the 2026 IHRA Nitro season won’t continue as planned, this is not the end for us. We’re already looking ahead and working on other plans for the rest of the year, and we’re excited for what’s next. We’ll keep pushing, keep building, and keep doing everything we can to get us where we belong.

Motorsports can be unpredictable, and sometimes things happen that are out of everyone’s control.

With the recent changes to the IHRA schedule, we’re disappointed that we won’t be making trips to Milan, Empire Dragway, Heartland Motorsports Park, and Atlanta Dragway this season. While we were looking forward to racing at each of those facilities, we understand the importance of taking the time to make improvements that will benefit racers, teams, sponsors, and fans for years to come.

To everyone who was planning on coming out to support us at those events, thank you. We truly appreciate every fan who buys a ticket, stops by the pits, wears our merchandise, follows along online, or simply cheers us on from home. Your support means everything to our team.

The extra time won’t go to waste. We’ll be back in the shop making improvements, testing, and getting our Maxima Racing Oils x Back in Black Funny Car even more prepared for the remainder of the season.

We can’t wait to get back on the property and put on a show at the next IHRA event. We’ll see everyone at Dragway 42 in August, and we’re looking forward to finishing the season strong together.

🏁 IHRA Triple Crown Recap – Hebron, Ohio 🏁

This past weekend at the National Trail Raceway for IHRA Triple Crown was definitely a challenging one for the Maxima Racing Oils x Back in Black Racing team.

We fought through a few gremlins all weekend long, but despite the setbacks, we were able to qualify 13th in a tough field. While the results weren’t what we were hoping for, racing has a way of testing your determination, and this team never quits.

A huge thank you goes out to our incredible crew for all the long hours, hard work, and dedication throughout the weekend. This program wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of you.

We also want to thank our sponsors and supporters who continue to stand behind us and help keep this Funny Car on the track. Your support means everything to our team.

And with Father’s Day here, we’d like to give a special shoutout to all the dads on our crew and everywhere in the racing community. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the lessons you teach, and the example you set both at the track and at home. Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Back in Black Racing!

We’ll regroup, keep working, and come back stronger for the next one. The gremlins may have won this round, but we’re not done yet.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans for this weekend. 🌧️

The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series Triple Crown at Maple Grove Raceway has officially been postponed due to weather. We’re disappointed we won’t get to unload the Maxima Racing Oils x Spell Paving Nitro Funny Car this weekend, but safety always comes first for the teams, fans, and everyone involved.

Our focus now turns to the next stop on the schedule — Hebron, Ohio for the IHRA Triple Crown. The team will keep working hard and getting the car ready to put on a show when we hit the track again.

We appreciate all the support from our fans, sponsors, family, and crew. We’ll be back soon and ready to make some noise. 🤘🏁
