Cedar Rapids Boxing brought six youth boxers to this year’s Silver Glove State Tournament. Advancing on to Regionals are Lorelei Blackford, Metztli Lopez, Mari Orr, and Owen Traylor.
Congratulations to Metztli for winning her very first boxing match!
And even though we didn’t get the wins for Wes and Gavin, we are proud of them for getting in and giving it their all in their very first fights as well. Good work boxers!
We have such a great, hardworking bunch of kids; it’s rewarding to see them finally get to try out what they’ve been practicing. Back to it Monday - in boxing, there is no “off” season and we have Regionals to prepare for!
