Hunter Wildman led Linn-Mar baseball to an 8-2 victory over Iowa City West with a complete game and strong pitching performance, solidifying his role as the Lions' top pitcher this season. The team advances to the substate semifinal against Southeast Polk.

As the baseball season is winding down, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate what The Dugout Club accomplished this year—and to thank everyone who supported us along the way.

Because of the incredible generosity of our families, fans, sponsors, and community, we raised just under $7,000 this season! Every dollar made a difference, and we're proud to share just a few of the ways those funds supported our players and program:

⚾ 600 away-game meals provided to our athletes
⚾ Senior banners and poster to celebrate our graduating players
⚾ Apparel store, fan shirts, and Military Appreciation Night shirts
⚾ College World Series goody bags and T-shirts
⚾ Alumni outreach to keep our baseball family connected
⚾ A fun Parent Night Out
⚾ Varsity door signs and Chalk the Walk to celebrate our team during the state playoffs

None of this would have been possible without the volunteers who gave their time, talents, and energy all season long. Whether you organized events, found sponsors, donated, purchased apparel, delivered meals, or cheered from the stands—you made a difference. Thank you for being part of this amazing baseball community.

We're already looking ahead! This winter, we're hoping to host an even bigger fundraiser featuring a great meal, a silent auction, and possibly a guest speaker. Stay tuned—we can't wait to share more details and as we head into the first round of substate on Friday, July 10th- GO LIONS!🦁⚾️❤️🖤🐾

We thought we might squeeze in another night of baseball, but mother nature had other ideas. Here are some photos of the players from Linn Mar Youth Baseball who were able to kick off the start of the game with our Varsity players. Tonight's games will be made up on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 @ Oak Ridge Middle School Baseball/Softball Complex.
