I spent years not seeing the entire picture.

If I could sit down with the girl in this picture, I wouldn’t talk to her about batting averages.

I wouldn’t talk to her about breaking records

I’d tell her that her choices are shaping who she’s becoming long before anyone notices.

I’d tell her that she is capable of more than she currently believes.

I’d tell her that failure isn’t something to avoid—it’s something to learn from.

I’d tell her that vulnerability doesn’t weaken leaders. It helps people trust them.

And I’d tell her to love her teammates, coaches, family, and friends out loud while she has the chance.

The older I get, the more I realize that the greatest lessons softball gave me had very little to do with softball.

College coaches aren’t ignoring you because they haven’t seen you.

They’re ignoring you because you’re not ready yet.

Harsh? Maybe.

But most athletes aren’t underexposed.
They’re underdeveloped.

The problem isn’t a lack of recruiting emails.
It’s a lack of consistent skill development.

It’s not that coaches don’t know your name.
It’s that your game doesn’t separate you from the hundreds of athletes they evaluate every week.

Too many families spend their time chasing visibility before they’ve built value.

Exposure amplifies what already exists.

If your swing is inconsistent, exposure won’t fix it.
If your athleticism is average, exposure won’t hide it.
If your work ethic is lacking, exposure won’t save it.

College coaches don’t recruit potential alone.
They recruit athletes who have proven they can perform.

Stop asking, ‘How do I get more coaches to see me?’

Start asking, ‘What am I doing every day to become impossible to overlook?’

Development first.
Exposure second.

In that order.

Every. Single. Time.
