The story behind Flionfree...

Personal background:

When I was a teenager, I was given a ceramic figurine of a Flion. Upon it being presented to me, I was informed by the gifter how the Flion was symbolic to the traits seen in me. The heart, the courage, the determination, and the ability to rise above. How much that gift of symbolism would impact my life was unbeknownst at the time. The figurine

was certainly a center piece of symbolism that remained displayed throughout the years, but it wasn't until a time of loss that the Flion grabbed me by my soul and shouted, "I am who you are!"

With new found clarity and strength, I emerged from the depths of loss and began my quest as a Flioness. Mythological Background:

A Flion is described in mythology as a lion with wings of an eagle. Ancient symbolism describes lions as The King of Beasts, with symbolic traits for being a leader with courage, heart, strength, determination and survival skills. Ancient symbolism describes eagles as the King of the Skies. The eagle with its keen eyes symbolize clarity, faith, perspicacity, courage, strength and immortality.

How many downed trees can you find in a single ride? 🤷‍♀️ So many I lost count. Maybe 20, or close to it.

It's all about bridges this season.
While bridge repair #3 is still in the works, bridges #4&5 are moving right along. Bridge #6 will require the big toys, but then we'll be able to focus on adding a couple of much needed new ones.

Oh, the places we will go... As a kid, I went on what I called "adventures hikes," leading the other neighborhood kids out into the woods to explore. No trails. No specific direction. Just wandering and exploring. I usually ended up alone as each bailed out for various reasons. Now, I spend my days in the forests as an adult, often doing the same, but no one bailing out.

No plans to ever run a marathon, but it was a beautiful day to walk a half yesterday.
