Well, as you have pry heard or seen, we got DQed last night at Boone. It was for claim refusal. Just to clear the air ill run thru how it went so the speculations stop!
We won our heat race, started 9th in the second A feature which ended up being 7th due to a car having to go to the tail. Took the lead on lap 4, an won with no yellows. Scaled, took pics, and went to tech. They wanted to pull the inspection plug for checking gears but didnt have Allen wrench big enough to pull the plug. They told me to go get tools to do so. I walk to my trailer and Lawty is there waiting for me, said he wanted to buy my motor. I said I'd sell it no problem thinkin used engine price, he said no 500 bucks im claiming it. I called imca, they said he could, I talked it over an we decided to not sell which was the reason for the DQ.
His reason for claiming me was "your winning to much."
Here's the reasoning why we denied it. First off he was the most disrespectful person ive ever dealt with at a race track towards my family and I. In my face, came in my trailer yelling, pointing fingers, even flat said that "he does not like me and he didnt want me there." Said he would keep doing it if I came back! We planned on running for national title and would need to return in order to win track championship. We have nothing to hide- motor is 100% LEGAL and infact is the motor that was given to us by IMCA from winning Super Nationals.
Unfortunately its not what we wanted, puts a bump in the road for the year, but anyone that knows me knows we will be back better and faster. We are out of imca for 30 days an have a $1,000 dollar fine. Now to assess an decide what is next!
