I was asleep when I was awoken with a call from Lauren . My first reaction "Lauren, are you OK?" "Yes ,Mom I am sorry I woke you, but I wanted to let you know I am done with my Masters and in 1 Year!" Goodness God. Two girls, two incredible milestones and achievements in one week.
Now let me provide a small brief about Lauren. Lauren struggled in school from elementary to high school. Some teachers were helpful and tried, and thank you and others did not even give her the time or patience. Some kids are wired differently and process in a different way and let me tell you. Once they figure it out and it WILL take them time. They are incredibly intelligent. I never stopped the faith. I knew in my core she would get there. Of course, I worried because that is normal as parents to worry, but look. Everyperson has something they can excel in. Just be patient. Don't give up. Keep trying. You will get there. Lauren is a fighter and when many said she couldn't do it. Well you just created a monster and now she said "Well Challenge Accepted."

💕Congratulations my Girl! For all those that said she couldn't do it. Ha damn well she did💪

🍎Lil one has been officially hired as a New York City Public School Teacher for grades 6/7/8 in Social studies, World and US History and guess where? Right across from where I went to elementary school in Harlem.🏫 My old hood, which is now hers.
Now she will know what life is like in Harlem. I had the best childhood there and I am glad she will be a big part of an incredible and historical neighborhood and walk the steps I walked as a child and see what I saw.
God Bless you my girl and many successes. Your kids will love you and your passion in History.

My heart hurts as today is my Mama's Birthday and I have not seen her in two years due to family disagreements not allowing me to see her. No one can keep a mother apart from their children. Yet it happens quite often. God is my strength and he will lead me to my mother again. I just have to sit patiently and wait until the timing is right. Mom, know there is not one day I forget about you. Though many times we did not see eye to eye but my heart has always been yours as yours is mine. We are one and always connected. That no one can take away.
I love you as your grandchildren and great grandchildren do. May God always protect you and know you have me. I will do my best to bring you back to your family.
I love you Mamita. With my heart and soul.

Holy Challenge Accepted. Lauren Burns and I did it! 2768 Steps up from the base of Pikes Peak about 1912 feet in less then 1 mile. Took me many times to stop and catch my rhythm to breathe and dripping sweat, but worth it. The view at every stop was even more breathtaking than the last. My daughter cheering me on. "Mama, you can do it. I am so proud of you." Made me pump even harder.
I kept thinking of all types of motivating songs like Rocky's Theme Song or Stairway to Heaven. I felt I was so close to the heavens. It was indeed spiritual. Well. At 53 I did it and I am proud of myself.
Oof today I have jelly legs but feels so dang good!

Thank you my girl Lauren Klos for pushing me. This was definitely worth it

🇺🇸Please join us for an important event on Saturday, March 29, 2025, where we will be discussing the obstacles our veterans and military personnel endure and showcasing available resources. The goal of this event is to offer support to veterans, active military personnel, and their families.

We are all too familiar with the statistic "22 a day," which highlights the devastating number of suicides within the military community. By raising awareness and providing information about available resources, we hope to make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling.

Long Island has one of the largest veteran populations in the country so we aim to raise awareness among the broader community so that our military Sons & Daughters know "You Are Not Alone".

As military mothers, we would be honored if you would join us for this important event. Your presence and support could make a significant impact.
