The Georgia Rugby Union is pleased to announce its Executive Council for the 2026–27 term.

Comprised of volunteers from across the rugby community, the Executive Council is responsible for guiding the Union’s operations, supporting member clubs, fostering player development, and promoting the growth of rugby throughout Georgia.

As the Union continues to strengthen pathways for players of all ages and backgrounds, this leadership team brings a shared commitment to service, good governance, and the long-term success of the game.

The Secretary position remains vacant, and applications or recommendations are currently being accepted.

Together, we look forward to building on the proud traditions of Georgia rugby while creating new opportunities for the next generation of players, coaches, referees, and supporters.

The GRU champion are all set to kick off against the men's D3 champion today in Savannah. They battle it out for a spot at this year's Gulf Coast Super Regional. .rugby . Best of luck to both clubs, it's sure to be a great match!

What a day for rugby! The GRU's Championship Super Saturday saw some great matches throughout the day, including a couple of women's motley sevens matches. It all concluded with a back and forth bruiser of a championship match with the Savannah Shamrocks Rugby Club coming out on top 30-25 to secure back to back GRU titles. The annual awards were then held at Grizzle Beer, a fantastic new brewery started by a GRU player, and the fun there was capped off by a union-wide, east vs. west boat race.

Savannah now moves on to host the regional Play-in match on 4/11 against the True South Champion, New Orleans.

The GRU sends out a huge thank you to all the member clubs for a great season, and to everyone who helped make Saturday so successful!

It's here again! Join us this Saturday at the Morgan County Soccer Complex in Madison, GA for our Championship Super Saturday! A full day of exciting matches kicks off at 10am, and includes a motley women's match for our developing women's teams at 12. At 2 pm, the GRU men's championship will see a rematch of last year's final, with taking on for the right to raise the Redmond Cup. Following the matches, join us for food, drinks, and season awards at in Monroe, GA. A great day for rugby in Georgia, see everyone there!

The GRU was shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news last week of the passing of Nic Crews from . Nic, a devoted husband and father of two with a third child on the way, tragically lost his life in a shooting at a VA office in Jasper, GA, while selflessly helping others.

Nic was a rugby neighbor of us here at the GRU, which means he was a part of our community and the Georgia rugby family. We are keeping Nic's own family in our thoughts; and we're sharing the opportunity to help support them in this tragic time.
