Calling all youth wrestlers! Our all Girl Little Hawk Wrestling Tournament is tomorrow, Saturday 2/28. If you’ve been meaning to sign up, but keep forgetting you better do it right now. You’re down to you last few hours to get you wrestler signed up. Registration closes at 8pm tonight. You must pre register through Trackwrestling. There is no option for email, call in, or walk in tournament day registration. We hope to see everyone there. Thanks to everyone that’s already registered. The tournament already has more wrestlers than it did last year, so let’s make this year really big!

With Day 1 of the state tournament completed, Anna O’Rear is still cruising through the tournament. She won her first round match by fall in :34, and won her quarterfinal match by fall in :42 to make the semi finals. Berkley Lynch and Gracie Heim saw their awesome freshman and junior seasons yesterday, and are already looking forward to next season.

Today is the Day 1 of the IGHSAU Girls State Wrestling Tournament. At the state tournament, seeds and ranking don’t matter. Dedication, preparation, focus, and leaving it all on the mat is what gets you to the top of the podium. Everyone at state is good, and any girl can win any match as long they believe in themselves, and there’s still time on the clock!

They started today by burning their brackets. Along with those brackets, they burned up any doubts, fears, and negative thoughts. Berkley, Anna, and Gracie put in an incredible amount of work into this season to become the wrestlers they are today, and are ready to show everyone what their coaches and teammates have been seeing every day!

Today we celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day — a day dedicated to recognizing the strength, determination, and grit of female athletes everywhere.

We were extra proud to spy on Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union post today, one of our wrestlers 💪

These athletes are breaking barriers, setting new standards, and proving every single day that girls belong on the mat, on the field, and in every arena.

Keep working. Keep pushing. Keep making history.
We see you. We’re proud of you. 🏆✨

State wrestling apparel orders are in. If you are not a part of the high team or their families, your orders are in the high school office. If you are a part of the high school team I have your orders in my office. Any orders not picked up by 1:45 will go to Iowa City with unless communicated with Coach Guyer ahead of time.

The West Delaware girls kicked things off with a school walkthrough before hitting the road — a powerful send-off, loud support, and a whole lot of pride lining the halls. 👏

These athletes are primed, focused, and ready to leave it all on the mat. The hard work, early mornings, and grit have paid off — now it’s time to go show the state what West Delaware girls wrestling is all about. 🤼‍♀️🔥
