Southern Swamp Mets With Tough Game Against Jughandles

Southern Swamp Mets had trouble keeping up with Jughandles in a 12-2 loss on Sunday at Southern Regional High School.

Southern Swamp Mets got on the board in the top of the first inning after Justin Glaser homered to left field, and Joey Boyle doubled to center field, each scoring one run.

Jughandles jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Christopher Tomalavage hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, David Marcano homered to right field, scoring two runs, and Nick Kreiger singled, scoring one run.

Jughandles added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Matt Gukes singled to center field, and Ryan St. Clair doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

Jughandles added one run in the third. Jordan Gilruth doubled down the right field line, making the score 7-2.

Gukes homered to center field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Jughandles.

Gukes earned the win for Jughandles. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Ryan Tjarks took the loss for Southern Swamp Mets. The starter went three innings, giving up seven runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out four and walking two.

Glaser went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Southern Swamp Mets in hits.

Jughandles collected 16 hits in the game. Gukes led Jughandles with four runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-2 on the day. Gilruth led Jughandles with three hits in three at bats. Mathew Siuzdak and Troisi each collected multiple hits for Jughandles. Jughandles didn't commit a single error in the field. Hart had the most chances in the field with six.

Southern Swamp Mets Fall After Strong Showing By Jughandles

Southern Swamp Mets couldn't keep up with Jughandles and fell 12-5 on Sunday at Southern Regional High School.

Jughandles got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ryan St. Clair homered to right field, Matt Gukes flew out, David Marcano walked, and Nick Kreiger singled to the left side of the infield, each scoring one run.

Jughandles extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the third thanks to home runs by Billy Hart and Christopher Tomalavage.

Southern Swamp Mets scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to center field by Brian Perez.

Jughandles scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Hart.

Adam Scire earned the win for Jughandles. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and five runs over four innings, striking out four and walking three. Brogan Burns took the loss for Southern Swamp Mets. The pitcher went four innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking four.

Southern Swamp Mets piled up nine hits in the game. Perez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Southern Swamp Mets with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Jay Jubak and Justin Glaser each collected two hits for Southern Swamp Mets.

Jughandles amassed 12 hits in the game. Hart hit three home runs in the game. The number three hitter went 4-4 with four runs scored and three runs batted in. Kreiger and Hart each drove in three runs for Jughandles. Marcano led Jughandles with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Southern Swamp Mets Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over NJ Orioles

Southern Swamp Mets easily dispatched NJ Orioles on Sunday at Raritan Bay Waterfront Park, 18-7.

NJ Orioles were the first to get on the board in the first when a passed ball scored one run.

Southern Swamp Mets made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the first after Ray Keelan singled, scoring two runs, Tommy Kendrick doubled, scoring one run, and Kendrick scored after tagging up.

Justin Glaser hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the second for the Southern Swamp Mets.

NJ Orioles tied the game in the top of the third thanks to a sacrifice fly by Randy Gonzalez, a home run to center field by Samir Imbert, and a solo home run to left field by Diogenes.

Southern Swamp Mets jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jay Jubak walked, Erik Munoz singled down the right field line, Justin McFadden was struck by a pitch, and Glaser hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Southern Swamp Mets scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. McFadden tripled, scoring one run, Keelan singled, scoring one run, Brian Perez singled, scoring one run, Jubak singled, scoring one run, and Bill Lee drew a walk, scoring one run.

Southern Swamp Mets added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on three hits. McFadden homered to center field, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Brogan Burns earned the win for Southern Swamp Mets. The hurler gave up four hits and five runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Pedro took the loss for NJ Orioles. The hurler went four innings, giving up 10 runs on seven hits, striking out six and walking four. Keelan and Glaser each appeared in relief for Southern Swamp Mets.

Imbert and Diogenes were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for NJ Orioles. Brian Giarraputo, Miguel Trinidad, Imbert, Brian, Diogenes, and #20 each collected one hit for NJ Orioles. Imbert led NJ Orioles with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. NJ Orioles turned one double play in the game.

Brian Perez A Difficult Out As Southern Swamp Mets Defeat Marlboro Mets

Brian Perez collected three hits in five at bats, as Southern Swamp Mets defeated Marlboro Mets 13-3 on Sunday at 90 Cedar Bridge Rd. Perez singled in the seventh inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the second inning.

Marlboro Mets got on the board in the top of the second inning after Adriel Correa singled down the left field line, Chris Savino walked, and Elvis Lopez singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Southern Swamp Mets took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Bill Hauer, and Tommy Kendrick.

Southern Swamp Mets scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Bill Lee singled, scoring one run, Ray Keelan drew a walk, scoring one run, Perez singled, scoring one run, and Jay Jubak singled, scoring two runs.

Patrick Quinn earned the win for Southern Swamp Mets. The reliever surrendered two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Kyle Curtis took the loss for Marlboro Mets. The hurler went six innings, surrendering 11 runs (10 earned) on 13 hits, striking out four and walking seven. Justin Glaser led things off on the mound for Southern Swamp Mets. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three and walking three.

Big Fourth Inning Leads Sewaren Mariners Past Southern Swamp Mets

Sewaren Mariners scored 10 runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat Southern Swamp Mets 15-3 on Sunday at Southern Regional High School.

Southern Swamp Mets got on the board in the top of the first inning after Justin Glaser doubled down the left field line, and Erik Munoz singled to left field, each scoring one run.

Sewaren Mariners flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Shane Connors that drove in two.

Sewaren Mariners scored 10 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Joseph McCaffrey tripled, scoring one run, Tom Colaiacovo singled, scoring one run, Tristan Brandt singled, scoring one run, Goldstein homered to left field, scoring two runs, Montefi singled, scoring one run, and McCaffrey hit a grand slam to left field.

Brandt earned the win for Sewaren Mariners. The starter allowed six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Brandon Burns took the loss for Southern Swamp Mets. The starting pitcher went three innings, giving up five runs on five hits, striking out five and walking two.

Nick Marcketta set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Southern Swamp Mets with two hits in three at bats. Glaser went 1-for-1 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Brian Perez stole two bases.

Sewaren Mariners tallied 12 hits in the game. McCaffrey led Sewaren Mariners with five runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. McCaffrey went 2-for-3 on the day. Connors went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Sewaren Mariners in hits. Goldstein and Brandt each collected multiple hits for Sewaren Mariners. Shayne Salvesen led Sewaren Mariners with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. Sewaren Mariners were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Colaiacovo had the most chances in the field.
The Southern Swamp Mets are off next week in observance of Memorial Day. The Mets hope to snap a four game losing streak as they take on the Marlboro Mets at home on May 31st. That will be a solo game beginning at 9:00. God bless America & the Southern Swamp Mets.🇺🇸

Southern Swamp Mets Defeated By Sewaren Mariners

Southern Swamp Mets could not keep pace with Sewaren Mariners 7-3 on Sunday.

A single by Justin Glaser put Southern Swamp Mets on the board in the bottom of the first.

In the top of the third inning, Sewaren Mariners went back into the lead after Goldstein singled to left field, Shane Connors singled down the left field line, and Mark Williams singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Southern Swamp Mets tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a solo home run to center field by Glaser, and a single by Brian Perez.

Sewaren Mariners took the lead in the top of the fourth. Ryan Pittari doubled, scoring one run, to give Sewaren Mariners the lead, 4-3.

Connors earned the win for Sewaren Mariners. The hurler allowed seven hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Tim Jinks took the loss for Southern Swamp Mets. The hurler went six innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits, striking out 11 and walking one.

Glaser and Joey Boil were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Southern Swamp Mets while hitting back-to-back. Glaser went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.

Sewaren Mariners piled up 12 hits in the game. Montefi drove the middle of the lineup, leading Sewaren Mariners with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Goldstein went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Sewaren Mariners in hits. Connors and Tristan Brandt each collected multiple hits for Sewaren Mariners. Sewaren Mariners turned one double play in the game. Sewaren Mariners were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Pittari made the most plays with five.
