What an AWESOME weekend for our Tiger Cubs! 🐯⚾️

Our very first 9U tournament, and these boys battled their way all the way to the CHAMPIONSHIP! 🏆

We came up short against a tough, experienced team in the championship game, but we couldn’t be more proud of this group. There is absolutely nothing to hang their heads about. This weekend we experienced A LOT of firsts!

⚾️ First 9U hits
⚾️ First steals
⚾️ First 9U win
⚾️ First 9U championship appearance

They learned, made mistakes, adjusted, competed, and kept battling. For their first weekend stepping up to 9U baseball, these boys showed us a lot about what this team can become. Keep working and learning all the little things—the future is bright for this group! 🐯💪

But this weekend was about something much bigger than baseball.

It was incredible seeing a community come together to support Charlie Woodard and his family through this benefit tournament. ❤️ That makes the rings these boys brought home mean a little more. They’ll always be a reminder of their first 9U tournament, but more importantly, a reminder of what can happen when a community rallies around one of its own.

Proud of our boys. Proud of our Tiger Cubs. And proud to have been part of such a meaningful weekend.

Season Recap – Tiger Cub Athletics

A year ago, we started as a 6U All-Star team. We had some big wins, but we quickly learned that talent alone wasn’t enough. We had to teach the game, develop instincts, and learn how to outplay situations—not just opponents.

As we moved into the fall, we found our groove. We entered a December tournament as a rec team and got a reality check from a well-rounded opponent. We fought back the next day to earn a win, only to be knocked out in bracket play by that same team. It exposed the gaps we needed to fill.

That tournament became a turning point.

We built Tiger Cub Athletics with a vision of developing complete players. We added CrossFit, weekly skill work, and dedicated practices. The boys bought in. The parents bought in. Everyone climbed aboard the improvement train.

By March, we saw the growth. We learned hard lessons about giving up big innings, then turned around and nearly knocked off the number one seed in a nail-biter the very next day. Through scrimmages and tournaments, the boys continued to show what they were capable of.

In May, we traveled to Lindale and earned our first bracket win. We followed that with another tough loss that exposed new weaknesses to address. Then came a matchup with a strong Athens All-Star team where our defense was lights out, but the bats stayed quiet. Another lesson learned—for the coaches and players alike.

We finished the season in Terrell, earning the #2 seed and coming in with confidence. Unfortunately, the boys learned one more important lesson: every day is a new day, and yesterday’s success doesn’t guarantee today’s results.

As we wrapped up our final tournament, we battled through the lower bracket and gave everyone a glimpse of what is coming.

This team is not done.

This organization is not done.

The growth we’ve seen in these boys over the last year has been incredible. More importantly, they’ve learned how to work, compete, handle adversity, and support each other.

I can’t thank our parents enough for trusting us through the process. Thank you for believing in the vision, supporting your boys, and showing up every step of the way.

To the players—thank you for your effort, your attitude, and your willingness to keep learning. It has been an honor to coach you.

The wins and losses will fade, but the foundation we’re building is just getting started.

Tiger Cub Athletics is only beginning. 🐅💛🖤

Proud of these boys this weekend. Although we didn’t get the results we wanted, they proved they are a championship caliber team. We battled back, hit the ball hard, and played some outstanding defense.

When this group puts it all together consistently… lookout.

Leveling up. Grateful for the struggle. Always pushing forward.

The boys were READY Monday. 🔥
You could feel the energy as soon as they hit the field — after all the work, drills, and prep, they were hyped to finally scrimmage and compete.

Now we’re back at it again tonight… as long as the weather cooperates. ⛈️⚾️

Proud of the effort, attitude, and excitement this group keeps bringing every time they step on the field. Let’s keep building. 💪🐯
