Play is a vital part of emotional and relational health at every age. 🛝✨

Whether it’s laughter with friends, movement outside, creative expression, or imaginative play, these moments help us build connection, reduce stress, process emotions, and grow in confidence.

Sometimes healing looks a lot more like play than we think. 💚

Play isn’t just for kids. It’s a powerful pathway to connection at every stage of life.

Research shows that art, music, and movement can improve cognitive function, boost mood, and increase social connection in adults with dementia. When words are hard to find, play creates another way to be seen, known, and engaged.

Did you know nature-based play isn’t just for kids? It’s great for adults too!

Recent research shows that adults who participate in nature-based activities—like hiking, biking, kayaking, paragliding, or snowboarding—report higher levels of psychological well-being and perceived health.

Researchers also recommend incorporating nature-based processes into therapy as a way to help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

Sometimes the most powerful interventions are as simple as stepping outside and engaging with God’s creation. 🌄

Many of the children and teens we serve struggle to believe they are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Distorted self-beliefs can shape harmful coping patterns and deeply impact identity development.

As play therapists, we are uniquely positioned to respond with compassion, clinical skill, and truth.

This week as we wrap up National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, let’s continue increasing understanding and reducing stigma around eating and body-related struggles.

Save or share to support awareness this week.

Board games aren’t just a time-filler in the play therapy room🎲

They help kids practice emotional regulation, build trust, and open up in ways that feel natural.

Here’s a few of the games we reach for most often and skills they help build along the way.

It’s Random Acts of Kindness Day🤍
Some acts of kindness may seem small, but they can leave a lasting impact on the children and families we serve. Kindness is one of the simplest ways we reflect Christ to others.

What is an unexpected act of kindness someone has shown toward you?
