Two of our Unified friends came up with a special project to support the children currently spending time at Golisano's Children's hospital. Thanks to Michaela and Elizabeth, several of our Unified members made bracelets to brighten the days of the patients there. A huge shout out to Michaela for thinking to include Unified in this incredibly kind gesture even as she is undergoing her own treatment. A special thank you to all the health care workers who assisted in this endeavor and are taking such good care of Michaela and all the other kiddos at Children's!! We appreciate you and are praying that Michaela makes a full recovery!

Today, three of our seniors received the “Friends of Unified” Scholarship. It was an incredibly beautiful ceremony in which 25 local partners and athletes from Section VI were honored for their contributions to Unified Sports in their respective schools.
Each recipient wrote an essay about the impact Unified Sports has had on their life, and portions of those essays were shared as they received their awards. Hearing so many young voices speak about inclusion…what it looks like, sounds like, and, most importantly, how it FEELS to include and BE included was truly inspiring!

These young people are such a bright light and a guiding force for our future. I think it’s safe to say that everyone who left today was filled with joy and hope for a beautiful tomorrow.

To Gigi, Elizabeth, and Luke…Fredonia is so very proud of you! Thank you for representing our school and our mission so well. You will be missed!

*Lydia LaBarr was also the guest speaker at today’s luncheon. She did a wonderful job!!!!
