🥎🔥 DAY 2 RECAP 🔥🥎

The Firecrackers Kay/Barnes 16U finished Sunday with a strong 3–1 record, scoring 32 runs across four games!

💥 Game 1: 9–0 WIN over MSK Blue
The bats came alive early with five runs in the first inning. Claire Schuerg earned the shutout victory in the circle, while the defense played error-free softball!

💥 Game 2: 12–3 WIN
June Reed led the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, including two doubles. The Firecrackers collected 14 hits, and R Burns earned the win in the circle.

🥎 Game 3: 7–5 LOSS
Down by six runs, the girls refused to quit and battled all the way back, closing the gap to two before time ran out. June Cox also caused trouble on the bases with three stolen bases!

💥 Game 4: 6–2 WIN over Softball Mechanix
Bianca Nagy sparked the go-ahead rally with a triple, while June Reed went 2-for-2 at the top of the lineup. June Cox earned the win, allowing only three hits and striking out three!

A great finish to the weekend filled with big hits, strong pitching, solid defense and plenty of fight. We are incredibly proud of the way these girls competed and played for one another!

🧨 FIRECRACKERS DAY 1 RECAP 🧨

Day 1 in Taylor is in the books for Firecrackers Kay/Barnes 16U! ❤️🖤🤍

The girls battled through four games and finished the day 2–2, putting up 33 runs along the way!

🥎 Game 1: WIN 11–5 vs MSK Blue 16U
🔥 11 hits and a big five-run second inning
🔥 Zaydie Summers earned the win in the circle
🔥 June Reed, Claire Schuerg, Savannah Jackson & Makenah Pires each collected 2 hits

🥎 Game 2: LOSS 6–5
Down 6–0, these girls refused to quit and came roaring back with 5 runs in the third!
🔥 June Cox went 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs
🔥 Another error-free game defensively

🥎 Game 3: WIN 15–1 💥
The bats absolutely EXPLODED with 15 hits and 15 runs!
🔥 June Cox, Bianca Nagy, Riley Lang & Makenah Pires each had 2 hits
🔥 Cox drove in 3 runs
🔥 Olivia Cruz, Makenah Pires & Zaydie Summers all tripled
🔥 Another ZERO-error defensive performance!

🥎 Game 4: LOSS 3–2 vs Softball Mechanix 14U
A tight battle that came down to the end.
🔥 June Reed stole HOME to give the Firecrackers a 2–1 lead in the third
🔥 Zaydie Summers allowed just 1 run over 2 innings
🔥 The defense finished error-free again

Four games. Two wins. Two one-run losses. A whole lot of fight. 💪

🥎❤️🖤 WEEKEND TOURNAMENT RECAP | FIRECRACKERS KAY/BARNES 16U

That’s a wrap on our 1st tournament back!

We started the weekend with 4 seeded pool games, facing some solid competition and getting plenty of opportunities to compete, adjust, and prepare for Sunday’s single-elimination bracket play.

Then it was win or go home. 🔥

🥎 BRACKET GAME 1
Firecrackers 13 | Texas Inferno 0

The girls came out absolutely ON FIRE. 🔥 We exploded for 14 hits and 13 runs, including an 8-run first inning. Riley Lang drove in 3 runs, while June Cox, Riley Lang, Savannah Jackson, June Reed and Kylee Norrell each collected 2 hits.

Claire Schuerg handled business in the circle, throwing 3 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts to help secure the shutout and send us on to the next round! 💪

🥎 BRACKET GAME 2
Firecrackers 1 | SWAT 2

This one was a battle from start to finish. We struck first and held the lead before SWAT tied it late. We actually outhit them 7-5 and played error-free defense, but ultimately came up one run short.

June Reed led us with 2 hits, Olivia Cruz drove in our run, and Zaydie Summers gave us a strong start in the circle, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits through 3⅔ innings with 3 strikeouts.

With the 2-1 loss in the single-elimination bracket, our tournament run came to an end.

Not the ending we wanted, but there was plenty to be proud of this weekend. We saw big bats, strong pitching, solid defense and girls who continued to compete no matter what the scoreboard said.

We’ll take what we learned, get back to work and keep building. ❤️🖤
