You should not merely judge a book by its cover.
When I was in my best shape physically I was in my worst shape mentally. Times when people perceived me as being happy and joyous, I was depressed and feeling hopeless. When I was out in the public seemingly everywhere in everything I felt the most alone.
I have mastered the skill of pushing forward. These days I’m learning how to pull back. I’m not everywhere trying to do everything and I feel a sense of peace I never felt when I was at the height of my career.
Here’s what I’m thinking about for the week ahead:
1) There are people who will tell you I changed their life. There are people who will tell you I made their life worse. There are people who will tell you they’ve never heard of me. I cannot attach my true identity to either of these truths. We are not special to everyone. We are not enemies to everyone. We don’t need to be known by everyone.
2) Living in your truth will never scare off the people who really love you.
3) Life won’t wait for you to be ready, to be thinner, to have more money, to get married, to get divorced, to get a new job. You can live right now. Things will never be perfect. It doesn’t things can’t be done.
Go live your life and make it a great week! 🤜🏾🤛🏾
Happy Sunday! ✨☀️🤍
